Read the not so fine print... Deceitful maybe but not an out right lie!

Though I am sympathetic to those who lost valuable money on these "to good to be true" credit cards. I have to say that I received the pre-approval in the mail as well but when reading it I noticed that the third paragraph, not the fine print, which is usually where you would find these scam's hidden messages, was made up of one sentence which I would like to share with you. "You may use your platinum card immediately upon receipt for all purchases from credit provider" What drew my attention was "From Credit Provider" That makes me want to know "who do they consider a provider?" It made me ask is there there a catalog or something of that sort? The other part that did not make sence was the fine print. It read... "No application or credit check is necessary when cardholder signs this acceptance certificate. Please read terms and conditions included in your membership package." When you get a credit card, even if pre-approved, you will be required to fill out an application. There is never "No credit report" done. That is a sure bet that it is too good to be true. Especially at $5000. So, I feel really badly for all who bought this. I almost did. They are legally making it obvious which makes it "not so obvious". We're used to checking the fine print. Instead they are writing in big bold letters and we are still falling for it. Deceitful maybe but not an out right lie. You have to read the fine and not so fine print, ask questions, and do your homework. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. How many times have we all heard that? Before you get excited be sure to read every detail of the offer. $45 seemed like a small price to pay for a $5000 credit line. I'm really glad I checked on line and found some of your comments and true details about the offer. I think what makes most people angry is their pride. Peoples Credit First put in black and white that it could only be used with their provider and people missed it. No one should be ashamed. It wasn't easy to catch, until you are shown how obviously stated it was. Then your intellegence is questioned and your pride is hurt. It doesn't feel good to be "taken" at any time but it's really maddening when you find out it was sooo obvious. I think that is where all the vulgarity and true anger comes from in the comments you have collected on your websight.
