feel that the public should know how Pets Landing in Scottsdale, AZ does business. Pets landing is located on 7908 East Chapparal Rd. I purchased a persian kitten them on February 19,2007. My cat developed a disease FIP which is spread through the feces of cats that have corona virus. Symptoms do not show right away. I have no other cats in my home so the coronavirus indoubtedly came from either the stores breeder or the store itself. The pet contract for Pets Landing claims that you have 60 days. Unfortunatley with this disease FIP symptoms usually develop after the 60 days.

I paid $899.00 dollars for this kitten and have spent well over that in vet bills. I contacted the owner Barbara and she said she would give me a store credit and pay for her to be put to sleep because I did not have enough money to do so. She said she wouldn't even consider reimbursing the vet bills. Barbara also refused to pay any extra so I could keep my beloved cat's ashes. The disease is 100% fatal.

Store credit? I am traumitized as it is, the last thing I want is another kitten from that place. I was hesitant to begin with as the place is not sanitary ( dogs were stepping in their own feces) but it was an impulse buy. People should know about diseases such as FIP and how they are not covered within the 60 day contract and how Pets Landing treats their customers and their animals. I am heartbroken and broke. Please let Storm's story be known and Please save others from the unimaginable heartbreak.

$900 For a Pet?

Are you insane? An "impulse" buy? The humane society of bexar county had hundreds of beautiful, loving cats and kittens for adoption for $89. That includes a bag of food, a 30 day "health" guarantee, whatever that is and a full bloodwork report that includes a FIP report. Of course you won't be able to brag you spent $900 on persian cat. I don't mean to be harsh because if you've spent that kind of money on vet bills, you probably have a kind heart. I hate to see those pet stores and and "mill" breeders rip people off when so many pets are available at the shelters. THOSE people could care less about the animals. Try taking a trip out to your local shelter instead of your local mall. That'll change your outlook.

First of all, a $900 pet should never be an "impulse buy." Secondly, a pet store is NEVER a good place from which to buy a pet, let alone a pet store that is filthy and laden with feces. Thirdly, did the pet store provide you with proper papers for the Persian cat along with medical records clearly stating that it is FIV negative? If not - how can you call this a rip off? You exchanged money for a cat -- and got exactly that.
