I hired this company to move me from NY to FL.  I spoke with Janaya and went through the entire inventory of things that I would be bringing.  We approximated 30 boxes on top of all the furniture.  Janaya quoted me a price of $1760.00.  (This was approximated by the weight of the belongings I was bringing).  When they arrived at my home they were in a budget moving truck with a paper sign taped to the door saying "Planet Vanlines".  The minute the "Foreman" walked into my house he immediately raised the price to $3300.00.  Weight was clearly no longer an issue because he was going by the cubic feet I would be using.  I will leave out the ugly nitty gritty nonsense and say that I came to a  reluctant agreement of $3000.00---everything included. I was told and it was written on the signed agreement that my belongings would be delivered on August 4, 2011.  Needless to say when I called on the 4th and wanted an approximate time of arrival a very ugly man named Dave answered the phone and proceeded to yell at me stating "I made no money on your move and you will not be getting your belongings today". He stated that he had "14 days to get me my belongings".  Again leaving out the nitty gritty I ended the conversation finding a hotel once again for the night.  The next day, Friday the 5th I called and spoke with Jennifer 3 times about when my things would be arriving and all I could get out of her was 24 to 48 hours.  During this ENTIRE process from NY to FL I could not ONCE talk to Janaya.  She seems to be the shark that sucks you in and then lets the rest of the horrible people at this company chew you up and spit you out.  My belongings arrived at my new home in FL on the 5th of August. The following things were wrong----a nightstand leg completely snapped off and no where to be found---a handle snapped off another night stand drawer---a leg snapped off a handmade dresser---the wood on a headboard frayed and worn---all 4 legs on one dresser completely missing and last but not least a box with pretty expensive lamps in them did not even arrive. I personally am choosing not to file a claim with these clearly incompetent people,  I have had enough aggravation and choose not to put myself through any more.  Let me say to all who read this and are remotely considering using this company---STAY AWAY----VERY, VERY, VERY FAR AWAY from these knuckleheads.  Consider yourselves warned.

Call the FMCSA!!!!

#2Consumer Suggestion

Thu, September 01, 2011

If you call the FMCSA they will help. this company has only been open since April 2011. one complaint has been filed through this administration already--but alas our tax dollars--they will only launch and investigation if there are several complaints over a shorter period of time. please please file a complaint with www.fmcsa.dot.gov   the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Will it get you your expensive lamps back? Probably not. However they can help you get back the money that was not doubt extorted from you--and me too.
