Prestige Marketing Inc. Pyramid Scam Los Angeles, California
Do not, I repeat, do not apply for an entry-level marketing position with this company. Prestige marketing offers what appears to be a fast track to becoming a manager. For many recent college graduates in need of a job and trying to pay off large amounts of debt, this looks like a can't miss. However, this is another example of something being too good to be true.
I was there for a few days and was let go for not getting enough 'leads'. I was then told that I would only be paid for two hours of training at $8.00/hour as well as my performance in that period. Unfortunately, this is far from enough to cover all the money I wasted on gas. Furthermore, the turnover rate at the company is beyond abnormal.
Even people who had made it as full-time employees were not paid on time and when they actually were, was well below expected. It is sad that in such a tough economy, companies like Prestige are preying on people who are just trying to find steady employment. I was initially skeptical about their practices but upon hearing the same stories from others, I decided to publish this as a way to inform others and help them avoid a similar fate.
