I went to Priceline.com and entered a departing Airport" Akron-Canton to a destination of Scottsbluff Nebr. Tickets were a bit over $500.00 each, needing 5 tickets I bid $300.00 a ticket. This was supposed to be the last "Family Vacation". I entered all info and put in my bid. The bid was accepted, but to my shock I had just purchased 5 tickets from Cleveland to Denver Col. I contacted Priceline.com immediately and was told by 2 agents that you named own price so there is nothing we can do. I also immediately called my Credit Card Co. to try to stop payment but Priceline already had their money.

Priceline.com said they did not have the destinations I wanted and I was offered this and accepted it. I said the website is designed to trick and dupe the little guy. Why would I purchase tickets for an airport over 200 miles from my intended destination. I Never intended to purchase tickets to Denver and I could have purchased tickets to Denver cheaper then $300.00 each and had flexibility with my flight options.

With-in the last few days my son was informed by his employer they can not spare him during vacation. I Have contacted "Priceline.com Executive Offices" and explained this situation and was told the same thing. You named your own price. there is nothing we will do for you.

I am Out over $300.00. Family Vacation is not going to be the same and Priceline.com will do NOTHING to help me. I am attaching some excerpts from their 2 E-mails to me. They tricked me out of over $1,600.00 and will not even respond to me anymore.

Thanks,

I am writing to let you know that we have received your email in our Executive Offices and I have researched your issue concerning the airports you are departing and arriving at. I found you entered Akron as your departing airport and Scottsbluff as your arrival. We we not able to get you tickets for these destinations and presented you with a counter offer leaving from Cleveland and arriving in Denver. This offer was accepted. Mr. Caetta, as for your son being unable to travel, the agents did advise you correctly, the tickets are truly non refundable, non changeable, and non transferable.

Sincerely,

Barbara Ayers

Priceline Good Deals ..but all sales final!

#2Consumer Suggestion

I have saved a great deal on several airline flights and hotel reservations using Priceline. Can you imagine a beautiful hotel room on the Miracle Mile in Chicago for $49 a night? A traveler hotel in San Diego for $19 a night? Coast to Coast round trip ticket for $198? However, a Priceline reservation is carved in stone! Once I mistakenly received one less night than I had thought I requested at a hotel. Priceline refused to add another night. Fortunately, when I phoned the hotel directly, they made me a deal that was almost as good as Priceline's. The hotel manager told me that Priceline won't change anything for anybody. Priceline clearly advises customers that all sales are final as booked. That means illness ,work schedules ,even death are not accepted for refund. Unfortunately, they also refuse to correct obvious errors, even when reported immediately. You can also count on the very worst flight times, usually 0600 flight, but this can be a blessing in disguise as once I missed a huge delay at LaGuardia that occurred after my flight had already departed. Despite the great deals, I have not been using Priceline lately because of their "no customer service" policy. Whenever you book a reservation anywhere, always be aware of the cancellation or "no cancellation" policy. Some budget carriers have just as good a deal and allow credit toward future flights for a nominal fee or in case of one airline, no fee! Also, in the case of anything ordered over the internet, please carefully review the offer for accuracy before hitting the final approval button!

I was reading your complaint about priceline.com and I could not find where they have proof that you accepted the offer to the alternative locations. They did state that these options were offered to you and you accepted. Where would they be getting that from if you never did. I'm just saying there is a missing loop here of proof that they could say you accepted there offer. I dont know if you can do this but can't you ask for proof of this accepted deal they are claiming. I hope that can help you somehow. Good Luck
