Proxibid is now allowing auction companies to use shill bidders, they are allowing them to have employees or the consignors themselves bid on their own items to jack up the final hammer prices on their online auctions. As long as the auction company lists in their small print that they engage in such practices proxibid let's them do it.

They also allow the auction house to examine and see all auction pre-bids placed by on-line bidders. I have placed approx. 30 online bids with approx. 10 auction houses on Proxibid and have never once won an item for less than my maximum pre-bid and everyone I did win was for the exact amount of my pre-bid, this is allowing these auction house's to scam on-line sellers.

I contacted Proxibid numerous times by e-mail about this and the fact of how many fakes these auction house are knowingly selling but hiding behind the auction house disclaimer that all items sold as is where is, it is not up to the auction house to know if an item is fake, real, broken, etc. etc. they all clearly state it is up to the bidders to determine these facts, kind of hard to do when they are doing an on-line auction world wide for a buyer to do a preview. The auctions houses should be required to list items as fake, repros, broken etc. Proxibid's response to my e-mails was SORRY we are just a 3rd party lister and have no control over what the auction houses do.

You have auction houses who are not licensed auctioneers on their site doing world wide auctions. You have auctioneers being run by someone sitting in a room with just the consignors bidding on their own items, they are not even doing real auctions and Proxibid knows it.

I bought an item off one of the So-Called Government seized items auction houses(which is also another scam these items are not government seized in most cases). It was a Disney Movie Cell, they stated it had a COA with it. I got the item and the COA was a photocopied copy of a COA that had nothing to do with the item I purchased. I called them and they were very rude and finally gave in and said I could send it back but they would not refund my shipping or commission on it. I sent it back and it was signed for and have now been waiting weeks for my refund.

I called them yesterday and spend a 1/2 hour on the phone, 1st they said they could not find it, they had no record of it, when I stated it had been signed by one of their employees, it magically appeared. She then stated it was in accounting. I stated and what does that mean, she said it's in accounting. I demanded my money back since it had been weeks. She said ok we'll send you a Paypal refund today. I never got it and when I called back the woman was not available to speak to me once I told them who I was. I contacted Proxibid and they blew me off again.

Proxibid is in it just to make a quick buck, they know what they are allowing is border line or is  illegal but they are hiding behind the sorry we are only a 3rd party listing service
