I opened the QMC website to a "free" offer as a thankyou for visiting their site. All I had to pay was $5.99 shipping and handling for my choice of 6 different clutch purses. I thought it was a good deal and these little handbags weren't worth much more than $5.99 anyway.
Once I chose my clutch, they had me in their clutches. Yes, there was a box that asked if I understood the terms. I checked it thinking it was because of the shipping and handling. Little did I know that I was singing up for a $95 reoccuring charge of $95 dollars if I didn't return the clutch and cancel my membership within 14 days. I was also going to receive another clutch in the mail every month or so and If I didn't return it within 14 days, I would be charged $49.
Yes, it was my fault for not reading the fine print, but nowhere did the website say that this was a promo and a subscription to a clutch of the month club unless you ran your cursor over the word terms which opened a separate window to "explain" their style of ripoff.
Shame on me for not reading the fine print, but shame on them for not making it plain that this was a promo item as a thankyou for joining a club I neven intended to join. By the way, they count your 14 days from the day you make your clutch choice, not when you receive it. The clutch handbag is only worth the $5.99 I spent to learn a $95 lesson
