Quality Subscriptions Fraud Buford Georgia
A young adult came to my door and told me that he was raising funds for his baseball team to go to Maui, and wanted me to help him raise money by sponsoring one player for $96. He was clean cut, very polite and also told me that he lived in the neighborhood. He said, My Dad has asked me to do a good deed in return, hence I will come this Saturday to clean your windows. I had a hunch that this person was not legit, but I still gave him donation half-heartedly. After receiving the check he gave me his phone number.
I couldn't stop thinking about this donation. Different inconsistencies kept popping up in my head about our conversation. I called the phone number that he gave me, and found that it was not a working number. I reviewed my receipt which indicated 'subscriptions, and this salesperson is dependent contractor aka self employed' I searched on the google for Quality Subscriptions and found several rip-off reports about this company.
Needless to say that I had been scammed. Fortunately, I realized this just a few minutes after the incident and called my bank to stop payment on the check I wrote to him and at least saved most of my money. Also, I informed the police about this and gave them description of this person.
