The original post was from 2008. I worked her a few years later and they seem to be doing that same thing. I didn't read all of what suneel the owner wrote. I stopped at the part where he said he was told that the product he got from India had the wrong date so he changed it. I found this funny because I guess they must always send food with the wrong expiration date. While I worked there we had to change dates on several occasions. I even recorded and took pictures of the products that were visibly expired. I planned to report them to fda as well but I broke my phone not too long after. The owners are a bit shady. I would not trust the food they sell to be safe to eat.

I didn't respond when you first posted this, because I felt it was beneath me, but 2 years later you are still at my throat, I won't stay quiet anymore.... I will respond to you point by point.
Matthew Oliva, you attempted to extort money from us (I guess you left that out in your self-righteous rant) You attempted to hold information you thought was illegal, etc.. and threatened to release that to the authorities if we did not pay you 3 months pay. What you did was by far more criminal, immoral and just wrong than anything I could ever do. This by the FBI statute extortion, had a lawyer advise me of the same, just d**n lucky I'm too busy to deal with a parasite like you. I went to lunches with your family, we even went to a RUSH concert together. You come in friends (sheeps) clothing but your a wolf. This man is no ones friend, I would warn anyone looking to hire or get into any venture with him of the same.
Knorr soups, were sent by the Knorr company in India. They were sent with the incorrect date, we were contracted by their agents with approval to change as per guidelines. They were never sold at fiesta, and today the new soups no longer have dates, as most near 50% of the products you will find in your own grocery store. There was nothing illegal, immoral or wrong with what we were asked to do.
Lets get this out of the way too, nothing on this blog has yet been done by us (until this message of course). First employee to post was Ayesha Karim who worked here for about 6 months and sadly had to leave. Second posting Ke-Ke is Keisha Brown, worked for us for over 4 years. They were independent accounts, nothing we posted Matthew.
All my employees speak great English. They may not be from this country, or speak as well as you, but they do just fine.
Health Department? Records are public, we have never received anything less than a good mark. We have never been shut down or fined for any violation.
You sweat into the spices? Thats really interesting since a majority of our stuff comes from our factory in India, sealed and ready to sell. Its Houston, we are in the South, its hot and employees will sweat... just as they do in one of the hottest climates on earth, India. It does not mean people are bathing their sweat on products. No. Most of us have the good sense of not to sweat into something we eat...
FDA. You don't understand the 1st thing about this business. You don't understand that products have a defect level that is well in norm for FDA to pass. Did you know that 1.9 ounces of common BLACK PEPPER (a qty that would fit in the palm of your hand) is allowed 475 insect fragments, or that in that same amount there can be 2 rodent hairs? Or that tomato paste is allowed 5% bug content, maggots, eggs, everything. So don't become an expert on what food is contaminated or not. Read it yourself:

These posts come from ill informed employees who were terminated for a host of different reasons. One had a criminal record that was withheld, another made racist comments and threatened other employees. In Matthew's case, he just felt he was smarter than me, the company & the system and he was going to get his via extortion. Guess it made you mad when I didn't pay? After all that, I still kept in contact. This guy actually had the nerve to ask me to write a letter of recommendation... are you serious?
Not lying to the government? Aren't you the same guy who was taking tips at his bartending job and not reporting them? They came back didn't they.... Karma will always get you in the end my brother, think about it. Telling fantastic stories degrade me will do nothing for you except put you further in hole.
I do the right thing, I never have ill will against anyone. I still don't, I would not have ever responded back had it not been for callous attacks and mis-truths you spoke. Heck I'm a vegetarian for the most part because I could not think of taking the life of another living being to feed me if something else will work just as well.
Since you have left, company has grown 4 folds and we continue to grow on the foundation of providing a great product, service @ the best price.

Look, I consider Suneel to be a great upstanding guy and hopefully a friend. However, you guys WERE doing some shady things: like redating the Knorr Soups to be sold at Fiesta. The two other rebuttles sound alot like they were written by, I'm guessing Anu. Look - I sweated bucket loads into the cayanne pepper and the ginger and lets not even get into making the Ghee in old Oil Cans in "Hell Box". I am not surprised you had trouble with your inspection - the one I did for you was by the skin of my teeth. And lastly, I just wanted my unemployment (which you denied) after I quit for being asked to supervise these shady things. I unlimately got the unemlpoyment - but, having no annymosity to the company itself - hey, you do what you have to do - I DID NOT POST THAT FIRST REPORT - but, I know who did. You fired him shortly after I left. And, since most of your employees do not spreak English - I am curious who had such fine mastery of the English Language in order to post the following two rebuttles. My advice, quit being petty, and do the job RIGHT - without cutting corners - if it is out of date don't sell it! By the way: the reason the FDA was not interested in my complaint was because it is NOT illigal to redate products, shady but not illegal. Oh, and as for dumping old product: Come On!!!! The FDA wanted to Rice Flour destroyed because of too many contaminants. We took old rice flour that had worms and traded it out with Rice Flour the FDA wanted to be destroyed and eventually sold the rice flour the FDA wanted to be destroyed to Fiesta Grocers. Pretty detailed for a guy that's just bitter because he got fired. You said I was the best Warehouse Manager you'd ever had: maybe yes, maybe no, but I don't lie to the government for anyone.

I've been working there for some time now. They do change the dates on the products. Check the cameras. There goes your proof unless they erased it. They changed the dates so much that they don't even bother putting expiration dates any more.
The production area is filthy. They recently got a bad report when they were inspected in July. And they didnt want to take the blame. Yes part of the filth is the employees fault but when the health inspector told the owner the things that were her fault she didn't want to accept her mistakes and blamed everything on them.
This company is very disgusting and something must be done about it.

I worked at Rani Foods for some time and at no time did I witness anyone changing dates on products. The company is well reserved with a lot of respect from its customers as well as workers. Cleaning is one of the key factors in the Warehouse, the Warehouse Manage does a walk through to make sure all is up to part. I could not believe this when I heard the horrible remarks regarding Rani Foods. This is one of the Best places I have ever worked at. Due to personal issues I had to leave. Sorry if anyone believes this.

I worked for this company for several months and loved it there. I only left when I was offerred a higher paying position at another company. I can honestly say that I have a very good idea of who placed this information on the site and can also honestly say that they told nothing but lies. Rani Foods adheres to strict standards and follows all FDA guidelines. This same disgruntled employee filed many reports with TDA and the FDA and all were unfounded. We didn't even have to prepare for visits like most companies do - why - because the company was on the up and up and abides by the law. I know for a fact that the employees wear gloves and hair nets - I had to order them!!! Since the building is fully air conditioned, I never saw anyone break a sweat, much less sweat into the products. We disposed of out of date products and I have never known Rani Foods, nor the owners to ever work for anyone else concerning labeling - EVER - so the idea they were changing dates for people, unfounded and ridiculous! Their warehouse is extremely clean and they clean it DAILY. I hate liars. I hate the one who posted this about Rani Foods. I am still good friends with my prior employers.. Why? Because they are good, decent, honest people who earn their money the good old fashioned way - by working hard and following the rules. To the rat b*stard who posted this lie - Karma is coming M, like a freight train.
