I'm the owner of a small travelling agency successfully and honestly dealing with Hajj and Umrah packages and Airline tickets since 2003.
In 2011, one of my longtime clients, Rukhsana Imtiaz requested for me to find a Hajj package for both her and her husband. After a lot of research, I suggested to her a few packages offered by the best Hajj companies in America. But she came up with the name of VIP Travel service which has claimed to be a very attractive and promising package on the internet and requested for me to check if all services provided by VIP travel comply with the Hajj rituals to be performed. I found this to be satisfactory after having a couple of conversations over the phone with Rashid Afridi. Rukhsana opted to go with that in spite of my warnings that I didn't have any experience of working with this company in the past.
A big amount of 9700.00 was deposited in VIP Travels account and all documents along with the passports were mailed out. But we did not get any news other than that the two passports would be reaching shortly with visas, Air tickets, and hotel vouchers, which is the normal practice.
A week before departure we got alarmed and started calling and sending emails to VIP Travel, however none of them was answered and my clients were not able to board the flight.
Since it was a nationwide scam, the case of cheating was filed against Rashid Afridi. He claimed to have failed to get Hajj visas on time while he had done the payments for the hotels and Air Tickets already. He was going to Saudi Arabia to get the funds back as per his statement to I-team ABC7.
Meanwhile, myself and my company have unjustifiably been dragged into the court by my client, Rukhsana Imtiaz.
Around Nov 2014 after many attempts, I got hold of Rashid Afridi, who gave me the same reasons and claimed to have been discharged by the Court and provided me with some supporting papers too. But the recent online updates show things otherwise.
This mishap has not only defamed my business but also had greatly affected my health. I need justice for both my company and my client.
