My Complaint:
I worked as an independent contractor for RONALD B. BEEM, owner of RBB ENTERTAINMENT INCORPORATED, on 10/9/10 in Chambersburg, PA. It was 5 hour wedding reception. He has made numerous promises to pay me, each with the date being pushed back over and over. I have yet to be paid. Now he is not answering his company phone or email.
I also have reason to believe he is the same RONALD B. BEEM that owned DJ RONNIE B PRODUCTIONS. So I doubt Mr. Beem has any intention of paying me. I hope he proves me wrong.
Here's our email correspondence:
(Note: Even though he signs his name as RONALD BEAM in these emails and on his RBB Entertainment website, his name on my contract that he drew, is RONALD BEEM. His name is also listed as RONALD B BEEM on his Corporation File Detail Report with the State of Illinois)

Ronald,
I should expect to see the check by Friday, October 15, if it is mailed immediately.
I am still confused as to why you did not send me half the money by paypal as promised in your e-mail and send the rest the Tuesday after the event.
I am also dismayed by the utter lack of communication you have shown. I also have a DJ business and I check my messages and e-mail several times a day. I don't understand why you aren't able to send the $200 to me via paypal right now.

We normally do pay via PayPal and do pay half up front. However since we just started using PayPal a few months ago and were sending a lot of money out, they froze our account until they could further verify info which I'm waiting on PayPal to fix. So that's why we will be paying via check instead. Thanks!

Hi,
There's no need to make threats on taking us to court. Your check will be issued as promised on Friday as this is our pay date for all checks from the week previous. Thanks!

Ronald,
In your previous email below you stated, "For all new DJs we hire we pay half up front and the remaining balance the Monday following the event provided you receive good reviews from the client."
That is the only reason I was expecting payment by today. I am glad we are communicating about the situation and will look forward to receiving your check.
Thanks, Tony.

Ronald,
I have yet to receive payment from your company. I would like some form of comfirmation that you have sent it, as you promised in your previous emails.
Unkind reviews, posted by others, of your current company, RBB Entertainment, and your former company, DJ RonnieB worry me.

Ronald,
The website for dj ronnie productions looks exactly like your rbb entertainment site, has a PO Box at a nearby Post Office in the same general are in illinois and is listed as owned by Ronald Beem on the BBB website.
I have fulfilled my obligations concerning this contract. You have not. Let's get this matter settled and move on to the next job.

This is the email I received back from them this am. Please let me know if you still do not receive pmyt. I was looking on the web last night and others have complained about this company. Also, apparently he used to be DJ Ronnie B but finally got busted for his scams. Apparently his website 'testimonials' are fakes to according to what I read.

Hi XXXXX,
Thank you for your feedback about the DJ, I'm happy to hear everything went well. As far as the DJ's pay I'm very sorry he called you up and got you involved, that's not professional of him and I will speak to him about this. Just so you our DJs are paid monthly so he will be getting paid on the 1st. And finally in regards to your concern about our hiring policy, no matter where we hire our DJs from we always do a complete background check and make sure that they are reliable do a great job, I also personally travel to meet all the DJs in person. 95% of our DJs have worked for us at previous events, like any company we do hiring of new DJs all the time, so that is why you were with a DJ that hasn't worked for us before. Thank you again for your feedback and please let me if there's anything else I can help you with.

Hi,
My name is XXXXX and I went through your service to book a DJ for October 9th. The DJ you guys sent me was wonderful and did an excellent job. However, I hear that your company has failed to do the same. I've gotten word from the DJ that came to our reception, that he has been unable to reach your company for payment. I payed your company $400.00 for a DJ, now he tells me you've failed to pay him the $200.00 that he is owed. Furthermore, I found from him that you found him on Craigslist, which no where on your website do you state that you get your DJ's from craigslist. Had I known this, I would NEVER had given you my business. If I find that the DJ has not been paid by the end of this week, I will report you to the Better Business Bureau and do everything I can to post reviews of how your company operates as many places as I can over the internet. Again, if I do not hear from our DJ that he has been paid by this Friday, October 22nd, I will do what I can to hurt your reputation.
Our DJs name was Anthony GXXXXXX and his email address it [email protected]
Thank you, and I hope this matter is tended to,

(The contract was under XXXXXXX X XXXXXXXX).
Sounds like the client had nothing but praise for me and problems with the way your company conducts business. Oh, when did we meet in person? I remember being hired off of Craigslist.

This DJ is just upset because he wasn't paid due to a client's complaint. As clearly stated in the DJ contract he signed if we receive any complaints the payment will be held back.
