I am sorry to hear you had trouble with rent-a-center. I used them to help fix my credit and found them to be helpful and cooperative. I bought a wide screen TV and a surround sound system, they even came out and rewired everything when I moved it to a different part of the house. They called me twice on the due date when my payment hadn't arrived,, but never reported me late. I would use them again.

Hello Lisa, It's not RAC's practice to give the consumer a hard time if merchandise needs to be swapped out due to service issues. I'm sorry to see that but I don't understand the reason why your local RAC store would give you or anyone a hard time about that. Not that it's my business but was your account caught up on all payments due? Was the dryer working when the delivery person set it up? (Sorry, trying to figure out why you were given a hard time?) As for the computer, was it fully restored before they hard rerented the computer to you? (It's RAC's policy to do this in the 1st place). Any time merchandise fails, it is in the written agreement that RAC is to service the merchandise. I do know in worse cases, RAC will find you a loaner (dryer, computer, etc..) if they need to take your merchandise to the service center. As for the $2K price tag, I will admit that some prices will be higher on items then what the local Wal-mart charges; When you go through a rent to own store (RAC or any other rent to own company). Just like when you buy a car from a buy here get here lot, you will have higher interest charges & cost then what you normally would if you went to a dealership (in most cases). As for the store not letting you pay every two weeks, this is not RAC's practice to do. I have many customers @ my RAC store that pay weekly, bi-weekly & monthly. As long as you keep your account current, there should not be any argument from the RAC store. If they refuse to work with you, my suggestion would be for you to call the customer care line. When you go inside your RAC store, there should be a large sign up on the wall near the counter that has this toll free line. (Hope this info helps).
