I purchased the Centaur CDR-2CEN Double Burner Hot Plate on Dec. 30th 2016. It was not new. I was supposed to check the condition of the box and refuse delivery, if it wasn't in good condition; but couldn't, since the shipper, Fed Ex wouldn't wait despite my having told them to.
The box was old and deteriorated. The packing material consisted of old foam at the ends, that came apart in my hands, and didn't even have a plastic cover, and no other packing material to protect it. There was someone else's name and address crossed out in magic marker.
Since I couldn't refuse delivery because of Fed Ex's disappearing act, I would have had to go through the complicated and lenghty process of filling out a complaint form, then I would be socked with a restocking fee.
The hot plate cost me $127.24 plus $21.00 for shipping. The thing smells of burning rubber. It never stops smoking.
Restaurant Equipment Solutions sales practices are deceptive and dishonest.

No where on Restaurant Equipment Solutions did it say not for residentual use. I smelled what I thought was burning rubber. As a result the hot plate blew out my electricity, and now I have no refrigeration, or lights.
