Robert Stout whose full name is Robert Walter Stout Jr. does construction work in Alachua County Florida, and the surrounding area. His business name is Robert Stout's Handyman Service LLC. I employed him to do some work on my bathroom. That was a HUGE mistake! For one thing, he has a criminal record. His latest offense was in 2009 for trafficking in stolen property. Had I known that, I never would have let him near my house!! The floor in my bathroom around the tub and the toilet was rotting out due to a toilet leak going unnoticed for quite some time. Robert was supposed to remove the rotted wood and repair it, and fix the leak. He was also supposed to rip out all the tile and lay down Pergo like wood flooring. Robert charged me around $1200. I paid him half up front and then I paid him the balance when the work was 'completed.' I paid him the balance without first inspecting the job as I trusted him. That proved to be an error in judgment. Robert's work ethic was horrible. He would never show up when he was supposed to and when he did he'd work for an hour or two and then leave instead of working a full day. On at least one occasion my tenants lost wages as they stayed home at my property waiting for Robert to show and he never did. Nor did he have the common decency to call. They had taken off of work to be there when he arrived. Robert is someone who takes no pride in his work although his words would make you think otherwise. The flooring he put down is lifting up after less than a month. The floor sinks in two places which is very dangerous. The reason it sinks is he ran out of wood, and in those 2 places the plywood sheets don't connect to each other! The tenants even told him they had extra wood. Apparently he couldn't be bothered. He never even connected the drain under the shower and all the water is draining underneath the home. Why was he called out to my home in the first place? Oh that's right, it was to repair a water leak!! How utterly ironic. You can see the grass through the shower drain when you're in the shower. He was supposed to stop the toilet water leak. However, I must now hire a plumber. He was so incompetent with everything else, I don't trust he rectified the problem. In order to install the flooring he had to take down the baseboard which he never bothered to put back up. His explanation was that I didn't pay for that. Really?!!! He also didn't bother to finish the edges of the floor around the entire bathroom. I gave him every opportunity to rectify my issues and he chose not to. He seemingly has no scruples. He will take any job regardless of whether he is qualified or not. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TRUST OR HIRE THIS MAN!!!!
