Horses get barn sour and buddy sour all the time. I have 3 horses, and if I am riding my black mare (who I bought from Roman stables 3 years ago and she is still one of the best horses I have ever had) in the pasture with the other mare and gelding, no prob. If I ride my gelding, no prob. If I ride the dominant mare, the others follow, kick and run around like crazy. I can ride two of my horses off alone, but that dominant mare who does not care if I ride the others in the pasture suddenly becomes very loyal to them. HOrses are funny like that. They have personaliities, they grow partnerships, and dependancy and there is no way to predict it. My black mare tolerates and loves my other mare, but turn another mare loose in the pasture and there will be crap to pay. The first day I brought my black mare home my other mare kicked her in the leg and had to separate them. It is not their fault you did not have a way to separate them. Horses always kick at eachother until the pecking order is resolved. Of course she is going to charge board for keeping a horse at her stables. She is not a charity.People are always very sharing with bad experiences on craigslist. What about all the hundreds of great matches of horse and rider? They are all too busy enjoying their horses to talk trash of Roman Stables. I am buying another one from them this week. I am not even going to go ride firtst this time, like I did the first 3 times because I am 1)honest of my riding ability, 2) clearly define what I plan to do with my horse, 3)research and ask questions of the breed and gender of the horse I am getting, 5)AND I TRUST THEM COMPLETELY. First of all, the rap sheet thing. I have had Animal cruelty called on me so much, because I rescue horses. Do you realize how many of the horses they sell were bought at killer auctions, or were neglected and rescued by them? That is why horses there are sometimes sick, or skinny. They are reahabilitating them. Noone ever stops to think about how long they have had them or where they got them. They just look and conclude. If the horse was sick when she bought it, that is on her. Should have got a vet check! Buyers responsiblity! Is the woman a vet? I take blue liquid gel cap advil, you take round brown ones-same thing. I like my orange juice with pulp, you dont. both are still OJ. I have worked at a vet clinic and know some drugs are different looking depending on temp. maybe the drug was cold or hot. I hear a lot of rumor, accusation and ignorant conclusion in your report. Not a whole lot of evidence. By the way, I bought a western pleasure gelding from a guy once who was perfect for 3 months, then one day bucked til the saddle broke. Came out of nowhere. Became a habit. The gelding I have now bucked when I got him, but not anymore. Is that the sellers fault, mine? Maybe a horse is just a living creature with a brain of their own. They have triggers just like us. If I had been raped by a guy with a beard, I would be weary of bearded guys. Maybe you reminded, or something in the new environment triggered a fear or other emotion we can not fatham.

Dana, I don't know who you are, but I think you have a problem with you anger. I have purchased many horses from them and would go back. Maybe you should have took someone with you to knows what to look for. Why is it their fault that you do not know what your are doing. You have to take some of the blame here. They can only tell you what they know about a horse and what they did at their stables. They have NO control over the horse after it leave the stables. Maybe you should take some riding lessons. When I purchased the horse I asked a lot of questions and they did not lie at all. What they told me about the horse was ture. Yes, I will go back when I need another horse. I know a lot about horses and I never had a problem at all with my new horse. I have gone to private party and I tell you what. When I went there the horse was not anything that they told me. At Texashorse, they don't need to lie because there are so many horses to choose from. I think you need to look at yourself and see where the truth is. They did not doing anything wrong.

I have never had a problem with www.texashorse.org or Lisa. All the people who work there told me the truth on a horse I purchased from them. I don't know for a facted but I think they sell a lot of horses over the years and only a 3 or 4 people have a problem, hum it seems to me that the people on here will never be happy. The horse that I purchased was a chestnut gelding and they told me that this horse was not a kid horse. That is what I wanted and that is what I purchased. The horse is great and I have not had one problem with him. A month latter I purchase a horse for my child. All I wanted was a horse that will baby site my child. That is what I got. Please people don't take these people that are not happy with their horse. Maybe if you think, thay don't know what they have. Too bad for them. I will buy more horses from www.texashorse.org.

"Ms. Dana Hall purchased a registered Appaloosa Gelding from Texashorse.org. Ms Hall rode the horse in and out of the round pen. A 12 yr old girl had taken the said horse on many trailrides. THE SAID HORSE HAS NOT BEEN RIDDEN FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH BEFORE THEY CAME OUT TO TEST RIDE." quote from Lisa Brewers response to the BBB file report against her business. I capitalized the last sentence but it is word for word what you said......funny your rebuttal to my report on here says he had not been ridden in over SIX months....which is it Lisa? Your beloved boarder Jennifer Patterson stated (and I quote) "I had seen this horse ridden all over the property by young children. He had a month off from riding due to an illness prior to Dana purchasing this horse." Now this is a funny statement bc you never disclosed the fact that the horse had been sick and both of you have stated clearly this is a kids horse.....not sure a kids horse is supposed to buck people off.....not the kind of horse I would want my children on. The part that is the MOST aggravating is you knew we had 2 small children both under 12 yrs old. You were going to let me buy this horse and put those children on him. Thank God I was the first to get on. I can handle the fall much better than a child. Yes he has been through extensive training since I have had him and he has been on many trail rides and many day rides and I STILL would not trust a child to ride him off on his own. You stated a 12 yr old rode him in trail rides all the time. You failed to mention that the so called "trailrides" you were referring to were the ones where you leave the pasture and walk through some wooded paths. Not "real" trailrides like the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo trailride (which I told you from the very first conversation we had I wanted a horse for that ride) I am glad I did not have him for that ride bc he probably would have killed me. I took him on his first "real" trailride during the Anderson ride in the fall of this year. I got on him to ride and see how he would act before we took off with the crowd of people and riding down the path we came upon a wagon (that was parked and had no horses or mules attached to it) me and my horse almost ended up on top of a car because he spooked so bad. Im sorry but wagons are a part of all major rides if he as much exposure to rides as you said he should not have spooked. Not only did he spook with it parked he spooked again while we were riding and ran straight into a barbed wire fence. Lucky for him he cut his leg pretty bad at your place so he knew what it felt like and got out of it quick before he did any serious damage. I wished I could get my story to each and every person that wants to buy a horse from you or your business. This way they will know what kind of person you are and what kind of ethics you do not have before they actually spend their money with you. So if you plan to rebuttal can you please be honest in your replies......I have and I have proved that many times and I have proved you have lied many times.....I have attached a picture of wonders purrfection and his chest from the barbed wire he ran into. Thank God again I did not let a kid ride this "kid horse" the child might have ended up in there also. Just to refresh your memory this was from him spooking at a wagon a common occurrence at trailrides that you clearly state above that he has been on MANY times.

OK I am truly not going to justify your ignorance especially since you have responded to a couple of my replies and each of your stories have been completely different. Not only have your stories been different but the other people you have had to try to justify your bad business ethics has had a completely different story from you. Threatening me with slander will do no good as I only speak the truth. I have an OVERWHELMING response of people who are completely on my side and have had the same run ins with you and your business. I know you get shut down bc of bad business practices and re open under another name.....which is I am sure what you are in the middle of doing now as your so called business is going under new management. As far as you threatening me with court....I never received your certified (I am sure it was bc you got busy wth training your horses and rehabbing your rescues) but I did get your email. I was sort of hoping you would pursue bc I would love a free ride to court to tell the judge about how you run your business. I have plenty of my own evidence just on my horse alone. But I am sure I can fill the court room and start a line out the door of people that will back me on your business practices....as I am sure you read when you sent out a email to your entire address book stating all of your horses were on sale for 20% off.
If I remember correctly you had several people talk about the horses you sold them. They were not happy with you or your business practices. In response to you saying I was a trainer....I in no way have EVER told you that bc I have not ever trained a horse. You told me (Jeff was standing there and heard you) that that horse had not been ridden in one month (NOT 6 months) You told me you did not have time to ride the horse but one of your lovely employees that responded to my BBB report stated that the horse had been sick for the past month (go back and read the report) The reason I bought my horse back is bc I felt REALLY bad for him. He was not taken care of by you and for you to lie to me the way you did you could get him hurt or me. After thinking about him being 6 and having a long life ahead of him all I could think about was him ending up in the hands of someone like you again.....
See unlike you I am a true animal lover and I would rather commit to a horse than to sell him. I have spent an extensive amount of money to have this horse trained where he can be ridden (which since you had him advertised with a CHILD on his back I never should have had to spend that kind of money) He now is my perfect horse but it had absolutely nothing to do with you or your business. I spoke with the animal cruelty division of the police dept in your area and he knows you by name and knows your business well (and not on a friendly social level) He has his cops drive by your place to make sure your horses are fed bc he has been by there and they have been without hay and water in the middle of summer. SPCA knows you well also. There may not be any actual negative reports but that is bc they give you 30 days to fix a situation and you do....you sell the horse.

This is in response to the report on Lisa Brewer/Texashorse.com. I have been in business for several years.Dana was very much aware the problems with this horse and she said that she is a trainer and she could fix the problems with the horse. This horse was on Consignment from a lady from North Texas. She went to a auction and bought a horse that did not get along with the other horses she had. She asked me if I would board the horse at my facility because the new horse did not get along with the horse she bought from us. I said yes and there will be a board fee. I am not in business to take horses in for free. If I did that I would NOT have a business. I asked her to bring over the coggins test and I would try to sell it for her. I explained to her that by law I could not sell the horse if I do not have the coggins test. She was negligent and I did not receive the coggins test that is required to sell her horse. She came buy 2 or 3 weeks latter to pick up her horse and to bring it to a horse auction. A friend of mine purchased the horse for $350.00. The next day he stop by and asked me If I would like to buy the horse for $500.00. I explained that the horse rides good, but need ride time because the lady did not do justice to this horse. I do NOT feel at fault she came over here and rode the horse more then once. I told here the problems that the horse had and at was rode in sometime. The horse was in the pasture for 6 months and the horse was NOT rode for that time. She is very much aware of this horse before she bought the said horse. If this horse was so bad, why did she go on craigslist and posted a post trying to get her horse back after she sold it at the auction a week before. I think ripoffreport.com needs to screen all postings on your website. You can really hurt Innocent people that have NOT done wrong and there is a lot of nuts out there. You all should be ashamed of this. I am talking to a lawyer and a friend that deals with slander and you all can get into big trouble because you allow people to post posting on your website with out screening your posting. Please take care of this matter. I will also be sending you a certified letter stating this.
