Ron Pinyan - Pinyan Labs Unhealthy Puppy Breeding Ankeny Iowa
I purchased a Labrador from Pinyan Labs. The puppy's litter was abmormally low weight and the living conditions were poor. We had a bad feeling from arrival to pick up the puppy but could not have left her there. We found out right away that the puppy did not eat and was very lathargic from the beginning. I immediatley made an appointment with our Veternarian. The days prior to getting into the Veternatian's office the puppy became more and more ill and lethargic. The puppy began vomitting blood and had bloody stools. She was weak and could hardly stand herself, had a very low temp andis required warming pads. Upon medical examination it was determined the puppy had a very severe parasidic condition and combined with her poor health it was a poor prognosis. Per the Veternarian and local breeders the parasic condition was caused by a combination of not properly vaccinating the puppy upon the 1st few weeks of birth and being in poor living conditions exposed to fecal matter and polluted water. After numerous attempts at medical intervention and 24 hour a day care the puppy lived 13 days after purchase. The puppy was under 3 pounds at 7 1/2 weeks. I presented the situation to Ron Pinyan and received a large amount of resistance and a vulger hurtful attitude. There was no responsiblity or accountabity. I simply requested reimbursement for the puppy and to advise that others in the litter may be ill as well. My hopes were to prevent any other families from going through this, as well as prevent this in the future. Ron Pinyan became extremely defensive stating he would not reimburse as my Veternarian was not "good" and it was not his fault it was somehow ours. This was one of the most painful situations my family has had to go though watching a new baby suffer and pass away right in our arms. Please do not support this unhealthy breeder any further. It is proven time and time again the conditions are not healthy, the puppies are not healthy, and the breeder does not stand behind his sales and dogs. You are asking for trouble involving yourselves with Pinyan Labs. Save yourself the heartbreak and burden and go to one of the other hundreds of good reputable breeders.
