[email protected]Dear Rooms To Go
First let me say that this letter is very long overdue. We bought a Sofa/Sleeper and matching Love Seat in a black synthetic material that was like leather, but less expensive. We bought it at the Dadeland Mall Showroom 9801 S. Dixie Highway, Miami, FL 33156 Lets just say cheaper, very cheap. We bought it around September of 2000.

It was only a couple years before small ?holes? started to appear in the arm cushions of the Love Seat. Those holes then lead to small ?tears? that after a short time spread. The only affected surfaces were the Love Seat Arms and the top of the Love Seat Cushions. I should have written sooner when the holes and tears started to show up, but had a long hours at work and even a job the required a lot of travel so I let things slip.

Detail Picture of ?Holes? in Sofa, this is how it starts.
Recently the Sofa Sleeper has shown signs the holes, but no tears yet, but soon no doubt. The holes show up and then after use start to tear. The holes are showing up on the Arms and Back cushions, which is a bit odd because the Back cushions on the Love Seat never tore.

I want to know what Rooms To Go will do to fix the situation. We don't have any extra money for new furniture and even reupholstering is too expensive. We are stuck with this eyesore sitting in our living room and have been for the last five years. It's about to get worse as the Sofa will soon look like the Love Seat. Enough is enough, we paid a lot of money for this set and expected it to last more than a few years.

The tears started within a year to two years and I should have written then, although I'm sure your answer would have been the same useless one it was.
Rest assured that my letter, pictures and your lame response will soon be on as many Consumer Web Sites as I can find to post it on. With a simple message.
I Bought This Piece Of Crap At Rooms To Go And They Did Nothing About It. Don't Let This Happen To You. Just Say NO To Rooms To Go!
Now before you go nuts and threaten me with your lawyer, because that's what companies like yours do, consider this.
FACT: I did buy this at Rooms To Go.
FACT: It is a piece of crap and started tearing after a couple years use.
FACT: You've offered to do nothing.
FACT: I'm entitled to my opinion to NOT shop at your stores anymore and share that opinion with the world.
So it's not SLANDER and it's not LIBEL it's just the FACTS.
Govern yourselves accordingly.

Cully,
We apologize for any negative feelings you have toward Rooms To Go. Had you contacted us within a more reasonable time from when the problem began we would have been able to assist you. Unfortunately, you
continued to use the pieces for another 4-5 years and that caused the damage to get worse and we now cannot be responsible for the condition
of the furniture.
Sincerely,
Andy Jones [/i]

That's where you're WRONG. That's what's WRONG with the Corporate America today. That's what's WRONG with Rooms To Go. Nobody cares. They issue a hollow, insincere apology and do NOTHING! Customer Service is NON EXISTENT at companies like Rooms To Go and you seem to have no trouble showing that. You almost seem proud that you do nothing to help your customers.
Rooms To Go COULD do something, they just choose NOT to do anything. Rooms To Go should be appalled they would sell such low quality furniture, instead they seem to be proud of it. I'm the one with this piece of crap sitting in my living room, not Rooms To Go. I get the sinking feeling that I'm not alone. I bet when I start placing postings of my complaint and my pictures (as well as your useless replies) on Online Forums there will be more people who also complain.
It takes months to get a customer, but only seconds to lose one. You spend millions in marketing, yet word of mouth is so much more powerful. Who cares about your Interest Free Promotion when the product you sell will clearly never last that long.
You had the chance to do the right thing, but chose not to. The American Consumer deserves better than your kind.
Just Say No To Rooms To Go.

[b]That was the last I heard from them. Andy did not bother to respond. How could he, I was right they are just another company who only pretends to care about its customers. Like most of you reading this I work hard for my money and when I spend it I like to buy things that will last. I also like to support companies that support their customers. The message here is clear, Rooms To Go sells cheap furniture that will not last and when you complain about it they ignore you. Don't fall victim like I did. Don't shop for furniture at Rooms To Go or you could end up like I did.
Tell your friends and family about this. As consumers it's time we stood up to companies like this and let them know we won't stand for it. Maybe even send Andy Jones an e-mail and tell him what you think.
Thank for taking the time to read this.
Regards
