Rosenthal & Stein & Associates Threatening phone calls for pay day loan Internet
I was contacted Feb 2, 2011 by agent Sterling, from Rosenthal & Stein & a*s. She told me that I had taken out a pay day loan in May 2009, and the company had tuned over the file to her office. I said, I paid that off along time ago.
She said argumentally that I had not, and that I would be aressted, my employers would be contacted. I said maem, what is the name of this payday place? I will personally contact them, and further my self in paying them.
She said, it was out of there hands, that it had been turned over to her office for collection. I owed $1090.00, I said, there is no way I got that kind of a loan. She said, that included her companies fees and late fees from the PDL company.
After alot of yelling at me, I was concerned that maybe I did get a loan back then, and didn't pay it, she had me feeling like she was right and I was wrong, after all she was an agent. My husband had been diagnosed with cancer, and was not working for awhile in 2009.
By this time thru her threatening me with criminal action, calling social security, she had me. I agreed to pay at the rate of $187.12 starting 2/24/11, and ending 8/24/11.
I made the arrangements for bank checking info, and paid my first payment 2/24/11, the second, 3/24/11. In April, I had called her with not being able to pay April's payment do to my illness. After my 3rd payment on5/24/11. I called to speak to Agent Sterling, and they fumbeled on the phone, then Agent Jackson came on and said she no longer works here, and said, I owe no more money???????
I've since been doing my own research and know I was scammed!!!! Barbara, Spring Hill, FL

***This is the obvious rambling of a disgruntled ex-employee. While I am sorry that your employment at RSA was terminated so abruptly, attacking me and my company with such absolutely false, sophomoric and personal insults and lies is unprofessional and unethical.
To accuse me falsely and speak the way you speak is not only untrue; it shows your character or lack thereof. The employees at RSA are some of the BEST employees that I have had the pleasure of working with. We take pride in in being a legitimate and ethical debt collections firm and we strive to meet and exceed all FDCPA rules.
We have never intentionally charged more than authorized for any debt owed. We collect debts that are owed and we expect our employees to follow all FDCPA rules. When they do not, we take it seriously and handle these issues as any reputable collections agency would.
The above rebuttal is erroneous and unethical. It is truly easy to sit behind a computer and say anything you can make up to bash my company. We are a recovery agency and as such, we do not make friends when we fire people or even when we collect legitimate debts that are owed.
This is the obvious rambling of a disgruntled ex-employee. That is a clear indication that this report is falsified bashing in an attempt to get even and nothing more. Thank you for listening to both sides.
