The Shore excursion are offered in conjunction with the cruise to the eastern Mediterranean. This particular excursion was a Panoramic tour of Rome, with a stop at the Vatican and a stop at the Colosseum. The bus ran through the city just like a local passenger bus. It stopped at the Valican, where we were told that the lines are too long to permit an internal visit to the attractions, so we wandered arround the plaza, and boarded the bus for a run trough the City, looking at the "attraction" from a distance, with no stops. When we requested to stop at the Colosseum we were advised that the stop is not a part of this trip, even though we had asked and confirmed at the exploration office within the ship (Voyager of the seas) that a stop for an interior visit at the Colosseum will be permitted. I think that a $56.00 fee per person for a city bus ride is a ripoff.
