They called about a $59.00 debt from 2001. Said that they sent a notification / validation on 4/25/06, which I didn't receive. Asked politely to validate the debt and if it is true I will pay it. BTW, my last billing statement from MCI from 12/2001 indicated that I had a $25.00 credit due because I over paid.

The operator, Rhonda, said that their company policy is they only have to validate the debt once. I questioned why they sent a debt validation out in April yet you started calling my house in July, three months later! She had no answer. I then asked Rhonda if someone called her out of the blue and said she owed $59 from something four years old and the person calling refused to validate the debt would she pay?

Her answer.NO. I told her that of course she must understand my position on not paying without validation, considering all of the scams out there on the internet and from phone calls, she then said that SHE needed to terminate this call. I begged her, C'mon Rhonda let's talk about this some more, please. "Sir I need to terminate this call" she then hung up on me.

If the debt was valid why wouldn't they just prove it? I thought it was simple requestI guess not.

Also refused to give out her last name and her supervisors last name.

Certified letter is going to them and a complaint filed with the FTC.

MCI has some pretty big ..

Bernard Ebbers, the former chief executive of WorldCom and perhaps the most powerful American businessman ever to face a criminal trial, was found guilty today of securities fraud, conspiracy and filing false documents with regulators.

As CEO, he was also the most empowered to guide the fraud, prosecutors said.

George Newhouse, a lawyer at Thelen Reid & Priest. Newhouse predicts a sentence for Ebbers of somewhere between five and ten years.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
