Run Local Locksmith Bad Company/Horrible service Mesa, Arizona
I locked myself out of my bedroom and called around to a few places. Run Local Locksmith had the lowest service charge at $15. I called them and they sent out a rep to come and check out the lock. They told me that it was $15 to get the guy out there and then at least $35 in labor. So I would be spending at least $50. I told both the operator and the rep about the type of lock I had and they both said that it would be at least $50, that they have to "evaluate" the lock or whatever.
Thirty minutes after the guy calls me, he finally shows up. So much for fifteen minutes, right? He then checks out the lock and says it's going to be a $130 and that he could give me a $15 discount so that the total would be $115. I'm just like "f**k that." I literally said "f**k that." He said it's still going to be $15 just for him to come out there. I pretty much said whatever and was about to pay him. He asked me how much I would be willing to pay and I told him that I would not pay more than fifty dollars. He also asked if I was going to call another company after this, I told him no and that I would just drill the lock as a last resort.
He makes me a "deal" and says that he will do it for $50 cash only. I agree to it, he tries to jimmy the lock open with a pick set, he then tries to wedge the door with inflatable bags and then jimmy it. After no success to each attempt, he drills the lock open. What the f**k? He couldn't pick a $9.97 Qwikset lock from Lowe's so he had to drill it? Now I'm out $50 and a lock. If I wanted to destroy the lock, I could have drilled it myself. But no, I wasted $50 on someone who couldn't pick a lock.
BTW. The key was like that of a regular house key. Nothing fancy. No padlock, nothing. Just a regular doorknob that you'd see on the backdoor or front door of a house.
