how do I begin,
well I lost my keys to my car while I was out saturday night with my boyfriend, I work full time and go to school, I was stressed so my mother watched my 10 month old so we could spend some time together. When I relized my keys were missing, we looked everywhere.
I googled a work for a local locksmith in lakeridge where I had to leave my car, I had a test after work in school and needed someone fast, I called them and where very pleasent at first, I first said how much is this going to cost me, she said $120, then she told me it does depend on the car, so she asked my make and model and then said that it would be very close to the price she had first said.
I called a towing copany just to see how much it would cost me to have it towed to my car dealership and they told me around $95 dollars, then I would have to pay what the dealership for another key and re-programming which my dealship said around $200. The girl specified to me on the phone they would come right to me and make me a key, I thought for sure it would be a better deal.
My father came and I had to take off work early to go meet them, the women called me on the phone and asked if i recieved a phone call from the tech. I replied no, and she said okay let me check on that for you. She called me back and told me the tech was running late, and that she needed my credit card to get my key code and that it would be 30 dollars, but it would be deducted from my final cost to help speed up the process. I said okay and gave her my information, granted I was unaware of how this all worked. It made sense to me at the time.
less then 2 minutes later the tech called and told me he was late and was having trouble finding where i was located, then told me we had a problem that it was going to cost me $250.00, plus a $30 charge for the key code. I was very upset at that point, when were they going to tell me the cost went up that much, and why was he asking me for they key code money again, I told him I already gave my information to the receptionist and she told me the $30 would be deducted from my final price, he said that he didn't know what I was talking about.
I then thought to myself why would he know the price it was going to cost for my key if he didnt already have the key code, he had to be making that price up. $120-$250 is a hudge differance in price. I said I don't want your service. Please just forget it.
I called them back and told them I no longer want the service please give me my $30 back, your tech was not on time and then I was lied to about the price, she told me she couldn't give the money back because they pay another company for my key code, then she told me they were going to have to charge me another 30 for the tech to come out. I then said HE NEVER SHOWED UP! I was very fustrated at this point, she said she would talk to her manager and see if she could get the price down to what my dealership had first told me which when i called was $200, I said okay whatever.
I then started to make other plans, I called my dealership agian just to see if the price i got before was correct, he asked me the make and model and vin number just as the women from the locksmith asked earlier, he told me these keys where very cheap because this car is very popular, he said the key only cost 18.50, but they charge a $50 fee to re-program the car. I said please make me an appointment, I was told earlier it would be $200, he said thats only if i wanted the electronic key opener with the key for convenience puposes, that would run me around $119 plus the cost of the key, I told him all I want is the key, I am going to have my car towed there please make me an appointment. I asked him if they were charged to find my key code, he said no its free you can even go online and get it, so there's another lie i was told by the locksmith.
I then relized I might be cover under my car insurance for towing, I called them and they told me I was, I asked them to get a towe over to my car as soon as they can.
The locksmith kept calling me on the phone, I finally picked up and they said they got the price down to $200, I told her the key cost 18.50, I know how much it is it is! my car dealership said i could get a key made for $70 dollars how do you expect to stay in business charging more then the dealership, how dare you. I told her that getting the key code was free and the I want my money back now, for both the key code and the cost for the tech who never came, she said no, I can't do that. I asked her to let me speak to her manager and she said he was out today, I then said oh how convenient! I said this was a bait and switch, she then started yelling at me over the phone, that's when I knew this was no business, I hung up on her after having some few choice words.
I immediately called my bank to close my account before they started charging me even more money, my father was sooooo angry. I was able to not be charged the fee for the tech, but the other $30 was charged to my account, when I looked into the charge it was comming from NASHVILLE TENN, ? how are you local when your routing account is in TENN. I then went back on yahoo and researched them again, I relized they had changed their phone number and address!!!! WHATS EVEN CRAZIER IS THAT IT WAS THE SAME ADDRESS I GAVE THEM TO MEET ME AT!! They listed the exact address in lakeridge that i gave them in Merchant plz, which the "tech couldn't find" how is that possible????? I then looked at the reviews after page after page of good reviews which is why i choose them in the first place, this man had posted that this company was a scam and to report ASAP to your local police or to report it on this website. They are not lisensed and they give poor service a mis-lead people on the price, I was charged for no service at all! I can't belive there people like that, I hope this report will help get them what they deserve.
