Safe Touch Home Security Doesn't think potential violent crime victims deserve priority Jacksonville Florida
I work in a prominent public position and had my life threatened by a criminal with convinctions for drug trafficking and violent crime. I was advised by police to consider a firearm (I bought one but must wait out the waiting period) and getting my home security system working. I had not been using it because, as most people with these systems know, they have a habit of going off due to malfunctioning sensors. I turned it back on and of course there is a malfunctioning sensor. The system will work just fine but suddenly when I am sleeping the alarm goes off saying a particular window is open. It is not. The city has advised me I will be fined $150 for any further false alarms. (I already had one due to it malfunctioning when I was not home to stop it.) I called Safe Touch and despite explaining my situation, where my life has been threatened, they will not prioritize sending someone out to fix the broken sensors. When he checks over the phone they are working just fine [at this moment, try me again at 3am!]. I have offered to pay the price of replacing the sensors. Just get someone over here and fix it STAT! No. They have one appointment in 4 days for a 2 hour window, an hour of which I have to be at work, and no they will not agree to just come in that one hour I can guarantee I can be there.
Seriously? While I sit here waiting for my mandatory gun purchase wait period, this is one line of defense I need to protect me when I am here and my home when I am not. Safe Touch Security does not feel that this is a priority and is completely non-plussed by my circumstances. If this isn't a message to take my business elsewhere, then I don't know what is.
