Santa Lucia Security Co. S.A., El Gordo Sweepstakes Scam! Rip-off! Madrid, Spain and Internet
On Friday November 5th 2004 I received a letter from Spain saying that I won the El-Gordo Sweepstakes Lottery Program. The letter stated that my money was being held and insured at the Santa Lucia Security Co. S.A.. Included was a letter requiring information regarding personal facts as well as my bank and routing number so that they could "wire the funds". Being a cautious person I decided to open an empty account for them to transfer my money to and then faxed them the necessary information.
A few mornings later a "very nice" man called to tell me that I now needed to Western Union them $670.00 for a processing fee. I decided to do it. Luckily for me the lady at the counter put me on the phone with a person from the Western Union Corporate Office who informed me that this was, in fact, a scam and then let me know that Western Union was now refusing to allow me to use their money wiring service. She sacrificed a profit to save me money!
The man called back to see if I sent the money and I said no and asked if I could fax a letter giving them the approval to take the $670.00 directly out of my money. He got very mad and ended up hanging up on me. His name was Jackson Avaro, cell # 011 34-610-093-683. Please don't fall for this.
