Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This place I want to warn people from going to if I would have only known now what I know now I would have not ever taken my dog to this place. You soon learn that Sarasota is not as large as a city as you think after speaking to others and telling them what you went through they too tell you the awful experience that happened to them at this ER. I will tell you that you cannot even bring your pet in there unless you have the funds to pay for your pet upfront to be evaluated, you are at their mercy! The experience that I went through is one that I would hope that no one ever goes through, let me start by saying I had to bring my dog here only because her vet referred me to goto this place since they

were open 24hours and my vet did not do 24 hour care, previously my dog was at an Er that she was at doing well but they were a 12 hour only medical records showed she did very well there I even received a credit! So back to Sarasota wher the nightmare begins I bring her there and immediately I am told about paying upfront and showed estimates 2 different ones as if I'm at a cardealer the vet had an attitude with me from the start when I asked to explain things she rudely said to me I already explained it once..she was in the room a total of no more than 12 mins tops after she left the examinning room a tech comes in with I call it the car salesman pitch instead of what is the best for your pet. I am

assured that I will be called throughout the night if there needs to be any important testing or if my pets health changes,I never get any calls at all I decide to call 3 times through the night which included 12 midnight and later I was even told my dog was fine that I should get some sleep her medical records told me totally different she was vomiting, falling over, going the bathroom on her self, and more so if that is fine to them I say shame on them! The next morning I called early morning of which I thought testing was done but was not since the vet called me shortly thereafter to talk about things also asking if I applied for care credit since from day one they had me labeled as not having enough money which

they were wrong..so I had the care credit the front desk associat Brooke asked me my credit limit and to see the paperwork her reasoning was since our pet would be at their hospital a few days for treatment that we would need to increase the limit higher than the next shocker to get interest free financing she told me I had to charge the full amount which I will disclose.. of 8,000 not truly knowing the actual amount of the vet bill it was basically an open unlimited for them so to speak. We didn't know the amount they just charged that because she kept saying if I charge you for tomorrow and the next day you won't get interest free financing at all..I will tell you that is a total Lie! I have since

called care credit myself and they told me the minimum amount is only $200.00 that's all and that they are taking it to their higher level to care credit! So what happened as we are thinking my pet is being taken care of well we were told she needed surgery and of course we told them to do the surgery when we told them to go ahead and do the surgery that was at 2:45pm they did not take her back into surgery until after 4pm now we had wondered why no blood work or whatever needed to be done before surgery was done all this time in fact we asked 2 techs what was going on and 1 told us that the vet had other patients that she was working with. All this time my dogs iv monitor is beeping 4 times and had

to call them in to find why and they were confused themselves. At one point when I had my dog with me she had a pee pad under her the girl asked me if it was normal for her to leak I looked at the girl and said to her the only time this has happened is in the event if her insulin is not givin or not regulated and asked her Are you giving her insulin, her response while looking at the ivs was I'm not really sure! All this time passes when they finally take my dog for surgery and I did

ask what they thought about her health of course there was no honesty at all and the outcome my lil girl passed away and with no care in the world but to my care credit it looked like they gave me a credit on the behalf of all of this when they never gave me a credit but it was because they overcharged me! Please I beg all of you beware ask around I wish I would have! Now that I've really read the medical records and see all the inconsistencies it makes you really wonder what else is not true....

I am so sorry to hear that you had to go through what you did with your dog.  I am not familiar with the veterniary practice that you took your dog to.  But if you have the means to travel to Port Charlotte, I take my dog and cat to Charlotte Animal Hospital.  They are located around the 4200 block of Kings Highway across the street from Tires Plus.  The whole staff is nothing but kind and sweet to my animals.  Even my chihuahua, who is terrified of strangers, enjoys going there.  Good luck to you.
