When I signed up for a free sample, I did so on a lark. While I cannot say that the terms and conditions were not available on the website at the time, I can definitely say that the process of signing up for the "trial" program was egregiously misleading.
When I look on their website today and choose the tiny "Terms and Conditions" option at the bottom of the home page, I see what a consumer trap this is. The company uses the following Negative Option Clause:
THIS CONSUMER TRANSACTION INVOLVES A NEGATIVE OPTION, AND THAT YOU MAY BE LIABLE FOR PAYMENT OF FUTURE GOODS AND SERVICES UNDER THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT FOR $99.95 PER MONTH IF YOU FAIL TO NOTIFY THE SUPPLIER NOT TO SUPPLY THE GOODS OR SERVICES DESCRIBED.
I just called them to cancel. I had to be extremely assertive in stopping the flow of this (no better than typical face cream) product. They first offered me 25% off the current price, then 50% off. Clearly, their call center is prepared for this type of call. I was finally informed that I would be receiving no more shipments. If this turns out not to be the case I will update this report.
I would also like to add that the products I received had different labels including: Satin Youth, Nouvalift and Beauty Wrinkle Reducer. That in itself should be a warning to consumers.
