I have been a customer of Ameritech's for nearly 15 years. I called a few months ago to go over a discrepancy on my bill. As always, the representative goes into their "spill" about the services that SBC-Ameritech offers.

They had a new package they were offering that matched what I was using in minutes and services. Supposedly this would save me money. I was skepital because the package I had was no longer available and I was grandfathered in with it. Therefore, if I switched packages I could not switch back.

I made this EXTREMELY clear to the representative. (Within the last few months representatives from SBC-Ameritech were beligerent about getting me to change my package.) She reassured me that this package she was offering would save me $15.00 a month.

I switched my package and when I got my bill I about fell over! Not only did my bill not go down the $15.00 she said it would, it went UP approximately $25.00 a month! I was flabbergasted! I phoned customer service immediately. I explained the situation and (of course)they refused to let me switch back to my original package.

Not only was this deceptive, but it seems this is becoming a regular practice with SBC-Ameritech. I phoned in to get my long distance removed and it took them 3 months to cancel it (and I was charged to disconnect it). Besides that, MCI (my long distance provider at the time) continued to bill be for a service I wasn't using!

Other providers are moving in SBC-Ameritech. Provide honesty and less scam deceptions or you'll lose alot more customers.
