Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Do not use this company without taking pictures of every single wall, corner, garage (floor), every inch of the carpet, blinds, etc.  I stayed 4 years and was a great tenant.  No smoking, no walking on the carpet with shoes, I had dogs you would never know had been there.  On the day we moved out we went through our "final walk through" with Calvin and were told there were no problems and from what he saw we should get our full deposit back.  I gave them the keys and left.  Three weeks later I send an email to the office manager asking when my deposit check should be mailed and for what amount.  I get an EMAIL back saying I was being charged $150 to re-paint 2 walls.  Why was I not informed of this in my final walk through?  What's the point of a "final walk through" if they are going to charge you for things afterwards?  His office manager called me and by the end of the conversation I was frustrated to say the least and she and I were BOTH going back and forth in a not so nice tone.  She said she would meet with Scott and call me back.  She did call me back and said Scott would meet me in the middle at $75.00, which would be great if I was in the wrong.  I was still not happy because I was told not to paint, but now I'm being charged for someone else to paint.  On their check out list it says, "Do not paint or patch any holes," so we didn't.  The walls were dinged and already had holes when we first moved in so we thought nothing about it when we moved out.  Also, we never had an official walk through with the Owner Scott or any of his staff at that time.  In their contract it says you should have a walk through with management concurrently, which means at the same time before you move in.  When we moved in we were told to MAIL the form in, not knowing we should have documented everything little detail and have taken pictures.  That is my fault.  So again the office manager and I BOTH go back and forth not getting anywhere, finally she said she will have Scott call me back.  When he calls he only says "this is Scott from Scott Properties and nothing else.  I was waiting on him to further the conversation and after 10 seconds of silence he says you asked for me to call you back, as if he had no idea why he was calling me.  I told him that was a redundant question he asks me why I have an attitude.  He knew why I had an attitude.  Then he tells me I should be thankful that the owner of a business is calling me back and that I shouldn't have an attitude toward a business owner.  I didn't know that business owners didn't call their customers/tenants back and that tenants are not allowed to have an attitude when they find out their money was spent without their knowledge.  After 10 minutes of being lectured, I told him I could have painted if there was an area they thought needed it.  He asked why didn't you.  Well if you read the contract that you wrote it says not to paint or patch any walls, so I didn't.  I remember there being marks and dings on the wall and he basically called me a liar.  If I thought we had done something wrong I would have fixed it.  I went above and beyond keeping this place nice and even showed the house to future tenants for Scott Properties.  I even recommended them to others looking to rent.  But I'm a horrible person because I don't want to pay $150.00 or $75.00 for something I didn't do.  Needless to say I still owe $75.00 and will not recommend them to anyone else.  They are very shady when it comes to them sending the deposit back.
