Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Sears Roebuck, Inc. call center on Hardy and Warner is the WORST employer I have ever had. I work as a retail support rep and I am expected to make thousands of dollars in sales EVERYDAY yet none of us see any commission from those sales at all!
If you don't meet the sales quota they will give you mandatory time off. The hours that are assigned to you are slim as it is. I started at 40 hours per week for training then 33 hours per week and now I am down to 15 per week because I am not meeting my sales quota.
The trainers are inept and the manager of the call center Michelle Taylor is a holier than thou, condescending little turd who has unrealistic expectations. If you are not performing well they will NOT move you to another dept because Sears has spent too much money training you for the current position you are in, yet will fire you at the drop of the hat if your "numbers" aren't up to par.
This company will try anything to fire you before your 6 months are up so they will not have to pay unemployment. Sears tells you that they value customer service yet they encourage us to push the customers to buy from us and LIE. Just because the pay is a little above minimum wage (10.75 per hour) does not give them the right to have these ridiculous expectations of their employees when Sears is not willing to treat us like human beings. It also doesn't matter if you are making 10.75 an hour if you are only working 15 hours a week.
The mandatory time off is another issue. You will not find out if you have mandatory time off until you arrive at work because Sears will change your schedule at any time. I take the bus to get to work and I have arrived many times only to realize that I have mandatory time off for the WHOLE day.
All in all Sears call center at 8440 s. hardy drive in tempe az is the worst company to work for EVER. Its so sad because I had such high hopes for this company and wanted to do a great job but Sears not only took advantage of me but lied and have practically broke my spirits. Please Please don't ever apply for this job unless you can take the pressure. I heard horror stories about this job before I applied and thought my experience would be different but trust me, everything you have heard about Sears is true!
