I hired Sentry Van lines(Phone #: (833) 270-5395, Address: 1925 Grand Ave #127, Billings, MT 59102) to move my household items from Tomball TX(suburb of Houston TX) to Gilroy CA. It has been a horrible experience right from the beginning. The representatives of this company are experts at making false promises. They will tell you anything to get your business. Once I signed up with them, it has been nothing but a terrible experience. The original quote given to me was about $1800. Now they are asking for $3650 to deliver my stuff.
The pickup from my house was scheduled on 11/21/2018. A couple of days prior to the pickup, I received a call from Sentry Van lines, that the movers are going to pick up my stuff on 11/20/2018 instead. I said to them that pick up on 11/20/2018 was not possible, because I will not be home and I had not signed up for pick up on this day. After a long argument with the representative, he said that they will try to pick up on 11/21/2019 which was the actual pick up date anyways. The dates given to me for delivery in Gilroy, CA were 11/30/18 - 12/2/18. I was going to be out of town 12/7/2018 - 01/2/2019. When talking to the company I had expressed a concern that If they were unable to deliver on the dates mentioned above (11/30/18 - 12/2/18), it would be a problem, as I was going to be out of town 12/7/2018 - 01/2/2019, and they said that it would not be an issue, because they have 30 day free storage that they offer, and my stuff will be delivered when I got back in town on 1/2/2019. They did not deliver my stuff until December 6th 2018. December 7th 2018, when I was leaving town, I got a phone call from customer service that when I come back on 1/2/2019 and they deliver my stuff there will be an extra $750 charge for storage. Earlier, they had said that 30 day storage was free. Also, the original quote given to me was about $1800, and when they came to pick up my stuff they increased the price to $2900. So adding the $750 to the $2900 the move would cost me $3650 now. Ever since I got back in town on 1/2/2019 , I have been calling them to have my stuff delivered and as usual they have been making false promises. The following is the description of calls that I have made and what Sentry Van Lines has said to me in these calls. These calls were made to Sentry Van lines Customer service (833)270-5395
-I called and talked to James on 1/2/2019 9:30am(PST). He put me on hold, saying that he needed to talk to the carrier. While, I was on hold the phone got disconnected. So, I called back but no one answered. I left a voice mail requesting a call back, but no one returned my phone call. That same day, I called the other Sentry Van lines phone numbers I had and left them messages, but no one called back.
-I called and talked to James on 1/3/2019 at 8:30am(PST). He put me on hold saying that he needs to talk with the carrier. He came back on line and said that I will get a call from delivery no later than tomorrow afternoon.

He came back and said that the carrier will call me by the end of the day today. I told him that it was very difficult living with out furniture and house hold items. By the end of the day no one had called me.

-I called and talked to James on 1/9/2019 at 2:41pm(PST). He said that he still does not have a delivery date. I told him that furniture was supposed to be delivered 11/30/2018 - 12/2/2018. So it is well beyond 30 days. He said that he is working with the dispatcher to get a hold of the carrier.
-I called and talked to Bonnie on 1/10/2019 at 8:39am(PST). She said that they will deliver in the next couple of days.
-I called on 1/11/2019 at 11:49am(PST). I was put on hold and then they forgot about me. No one came back on line.
-I called and talked to Bonnie on 1/11/2019 at 12:01pm(PST). I complained that in my previous call at 11:49am(PST), I was put on hold and I waited for quite a while and no one came back on line. She had nothing to say about this. I asked her about delivery of my stuff and she said that I will get a call from the carrier in the next few days.
Since 1/2/2019, I have not received a single call back from this company regarding non-delivery of my items. Prior to signing up with this company, they were calling and leaving me messages all hours of day to get my business.

The company you hired states on the bottom of their website states that this company is not an authorized mover. What you did was hire a broker who subcontracted your move to another carrier based on lowest price. Calling the broker to find out where your stuff is....impossible because they have no idea where your stuff is because they didn't move your stuff (remember when you called and they said they have to call the carrier? That's a dead give away to the reader. Now you know why).
The best course of action for you is to call this company and find out who performed the actual move for you. You likely have to call that company directly to find out where your stuff is. However, I think your pain is only starting - in many cases, movers like this don't treat your stuff very well, and that will cost you far more than what you paid...when you actually do receive your items.
I mean I don't know how much stuff you have, but there is no real way to move you from Texas to California for $1,800 - I mean the fuel costs more than that to transport your stuff. What you should have done is find a moving company in TX to move your stuff to CA instead of a company in Montana, or Florida, or Georgia, or some other place, and have them come and see what beeds to be moved, and then quote you specifically in pounds. Some guy on a telephone telling you how much something costs without seeing anything needing to be moved, should be placed on ignore.
