I purchased a puppy from Shake A Paw beginning of March 2005 and I have been disappointed in them since the day I brought my puppy home.The people that work there are liars. They sell you sick puppies knowing good and well what they are doing. Here is my story.

I went to Shake A Paw with my fiancee just to look and we came home with the cutest boxer.(his name will not be disclosed due to our confidentiality) Mine and my fiancees very good friend had purchased a puppy from Shake A Paw a couple of weeks prior and when we had called them from Shake A Paw they came right over. The second they had walked in Shake A Paws establishment they told my fiancee and I to look through a different company because there dog almost died and barely made it home.

We had already made our desicion picked him out and loved him- we knew he looked a lil thin but we were going to feed him alot and get him nice and chubby(so we thought) The first two days were good for him he was a lil playful never really eating too much though- then one morning i woke up and he could barely breathe. I was soo worried i rushed him to the vet. The vet took xrays of his lungs and said "for right now he's safe he doesn't have pnemonia" they could not guarantee me that he would not get it though.

They put him on an antibiotic and sent me on my way; alot of other things had happend in that time. One being I had gotten into a very big disagreement with Shake A Paw. I spoke to Kelly, Bernedette,and Aliison the owner all at different times and they were all rude and the things that came out of there mouths were the furthest thing from professional, including calling me psychotic and that my dog was better off with them. I said you are out of your d**n mind if you think I am going to bring my puppy back to your disease infested facility. We had some more words.

Those people are greedy, money hungry, pathetic, and I don't know how they can sleep at night. I really don't. I just thank GOD that my puppy got out alive literally.

Hopefully within the next couple of months this will all be taken care of. Thank you for listening and giving me your time,

FOR ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOST A PET, OR PURCHASED A SICK PET AT SHAKE A PAW IN TOMS RIVER, WE NEED YOUR HELP! MANY PEOPLE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AFTER THE BAD NEWS..... YOU NEED TO CONTACT THE OCEAN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND ASK FOR MARIA SANZO 732-341-9700. TELL HER ABOUT YOUR UNFIT FOR SALE INFORMATION THAT YOU HAD RECEIVED FROM THE VET, OR EVEN YOUR COMPLAINTS OF ANIMALS IN THE STORE. SHE HAD TOLD ME THAT IF ENOUGH COMPLAINTS AND UNFIT FOR SALES ARE MAILED IN, THE STORE WILL LOSE THEIR LICENSE, AND BE CLOSED. SHE HAD MENTIONED THAT THE STORE DOES NOT HAVE A BAD RECORD BECUASE NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS WERE SENT IN. LET'S HELP CHANGE THIS AND THEIR BELIEF THAT THE STORE IS GREAT AND ANIMALS ARE HEALTHY... You need to call Maria and mail their unfit for sale papers to .. OCEAN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT PO BOX 2191 TOMS RIVER, NJ 08754 ATTN: MARIA SANZO This will ensure no one else suffers like other dog owners with their losses. PS: make sure you call Consumer Affairs in Ocean County and file a complaint. Also contact the Better Business Bureau in Trenton and file a complaint.
