Shangri-La Motel Taking Tenants Money and Still Kicking Them Out LAKE WORTH, Florida
THE OWNERS OF THIS HOTEL ARE TAKING MONEY FROM THE TENANTS AND STILL KICKING THEM OUT INTO THE STREETS WITHOUT ANY REMORSE OR REGARDS,WE CHECKED-IN ON SEPTEMBER 2ND,2011 AND KEPT GIVING THE OWNER MONEY IN ADVANCE FROM THE 2ND TO THE 7TH OF SEPTEMBER WHICH CAME OUT TO $435.00 AND HAD A BALANCE OF $65.00.
THE TWO SIGNS ON THE ROAD SAY $200.00 PER WEEK WITH TAX INCLUDED BUT THEY ARE TELLING THE TENANTS THE WEEKLY ROOM RATES ARE $250.00 AND THAT EVERYONE IS PAYING THIS RATE BUT I TALKED TO SEVERAL OTHER TENANTS CURRENTLY STAYING THERE AND EVERYONE IS SAYING THAT THEY ONLY PAY $200.00 PER WEEK AND THAT THE OWNERS ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF MY BOYFRIEND ALLEN G AND I, THE OWNERS HARRASSED MY BOYFRIEND AND I OVER $65.00 CONSTANTLY KNOCKED ON THE DOOR SENT OTHER PEOPLE TO KNOCK ON THE DOOR TO ASK WHEN ARE WE GONNA PAY THE $65.00 DIFFERENCE AND ASKED TO GO AND ASK HIS BOSS FOR THE $65.00 DIFFERENCE AT A JOB HE JUST STARTED AND HAD ONLY BEEN THERE A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. AND WHEN THE BOSS SAID NO,ALLEN EXPLAINED THAT HE GETS HIS FIRST PAY ON WEDNESDAY,SEPTEMBER 21ST,2011 AND COULD GIVE IT TO HIM IN FULL. HE TOLD ALLEN IN A SEPARATE CONVERSATION THAT HE CANT WAIT THAT LONG AND THAT IT HAS TO PAID WEEKLY AND THEY DONT DO BI-WEEKLY RENTALS AND WE TOLD HIM ALL OF THIS WHEN WE INITALLY CAME TO LIVE BECAUSE WE BOTH HAD JUST GOT THOSE JOBS,AND MY JOB PAID BI-WEEKLY. ALLEN WENT TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER THAT PAID WEEKLY SO WE CAN KEEP THE RENT CURRENT,AND THEY WERE WELL AWARE OF ALL OF THIS.
THE OWNER CAME TO THE ON SEPTEMBER 17TH,2011 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 12:00MIDNIGHT AND 12:30AM AND KNOCKED ON THE DOOR WITH HIS BROTHER-IN-LAW ON THE PHONE AND A GUY NAMED SHAWN LOOKING FOR ALLEN AND TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO PACK EVERYTHING AND VACATE BECAUSE THE COPS WERE GONNA BE CALLED. IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT AND DARK OUTSIDE AND THE WAS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME AND SAID THE REASON HIS BROTHER-IN-LAW CALLED THE POLICE WAS BECAUSE ALLEN HAD THREATENED HIM VIA TEXT AND KEPT CALLING HIM AT 1:00AM WHICH WAS A LIE. THEN HE COMES BACK AGAIN AND KNOCKS ON THE DOOR AND SAYS I CAN SLEEP IN THE ROOM WITH MY THINGS ALREADY PACKED BUT I GOTTA BE OUT OF THE ROOM BY 10AM ONE OWNER SAYS. AND THEN ANOTHER OWNER SAYS AT 11AM AND THEN WHEN 11AM CAME HE KNOCKS ON THE DOOR AND SAYS MY SISTER SAID THAT YOU GUYS CAN STAY BECAUSE SHE LIKES YOU GUYS AND THAT AS LONG AS YOU PAID WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY MORNING IT WOULD BE OKAY.
WE ARE REALLY HESITANT ON GIVING THE OWNERS THIS $250.00 BECAUSE THEY HAVE A HISTORY OF TAKING PEOPLES MONEY AND STILL KICKING THEM OUT EVEN THOUGH THEY PAID IN FULL OR MAKE PARTIAL PAYMENTS TO STAY CURRENT ON THEIR RENT. THE PLACE IS VERY DIRTY,ROACH AND WORMS INFESTED,A LOT OF DEAD ROACHES ON OR AROUND THE WINDOW SILLS,THE BED LINENS TOWELS,WASHCLOTHS,HAND TOWELS ARE NOT BEING WASHED PROPERLY. THEY DONT USE ANY TYPE OF ANTIBACTERIAL CLEANERS OR ANY TYPE OF BLEACH WHEN THEY WASH THESE ITEMS. THERE IS A LOT OF DRUGS AND PROSTITUTION IN AND AROUND THIS HOTEL.THEY SHOULD REFUND EVERYONE THEIR MONEY ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT ARE BEING OVERCHARGED. WE REALLY WOULD JUST LIKE OUR $435.00 BACK AND TO BREAK TIES WITH THIS PLACE ALL TOGETHER,AND FOR THEM TO NEVER CONTACT US AFTER THIS LOSE OUR INFORMATION.
