I can't see how this experience qualifies as a ripoff. Shoprite takes just about anything back, including, on most occasions items you didn't like but ate anyway.
At Passover, many specialty items are stocked. There are HUGE signs all over the store at Passover stating over and over, however which way it can be stated, that Passover items are specialty items and no refund is available.
I was in line, waiting for a raincheck and felt absolutely terrible for the staff who dealt with angry customers who, for one reason or another, wanted their money back.
Avoid this conflict by reading the signs.
Maybe an exchange for a different brand would work out.
I've patronized this store for many years and customers everywhere, really, should understand that policy applies to everyone, including them.
