I contributed to a crowd funding campaign for this company on Rockethub in April 2013. I (and many other trusting saps) were supposed to receive 80 % AR-15 lowers for our money. I paid $100 for 4 of them. These guys raised $222,960 during the crowdfunding campaign. Deliveries were to begin in July 2013 "first come-first serve". As time went on there were actually some of these receivers delivered (allegedly) and increasing accusations of a scam. The owners said that they needed to sell retail in order to have the money to produce product to fulfill their rockethub orders. That was a bit worrisome to some of us since the original goal of the funding drive was $30,000.
The last update on Rockethub was 8/14/14. I checked the company's Facebook page and Rockethub updates. Both have been sanitized or had comments closed. Today, 12/12/14, I attempted to go to the Sierra Nevada Arms website and it is " Down for Maintenance". There goes that $100!
My advice; Don't crowdfund unless you know you are going to lose your entire investment! If you invest anyway (yes it is too good to be true) and there is a delivery date- give them two weeks then get on their a*s and stay on their a*s until you have your product. Also, check their terms and conditions. These clowns had a return policy that had essentially a 100% restocking fee! If anyone out there knows the name(s) of the principals behind the company, please let everyone know- they will try this again if they haven't already! My condolonces in advance because we just got screwed!
