Signing up for SMS.ac Premium Channels is worth the Coin. There are multiple ways to improve upon your experience utilizing SMS.ac products and services. Premium Channels are an excellent and informative way to receive the information and entertainment you wantright on your mobile phone. Should you not be satisfied with SMS.ac's service, they offer a money-back refund policy. Notwithstanding SMS.ac's passion for customer care, the company is often presented with claims which are questionable. The below claim is representative of such an item. It defies logic to believe that 5168 messages were sent and delivered within two days at a cost of $1,500 CN . The question needs to be asked: Why did SMS.ac not receive a request for a refund or customer service inquiry on SMS.ac's toll free lines, staffed 24/7? Logic dictates that the posting is fraudulent and it was probably posted by a competitor, or defamer.

EDitor's Comment: Rip-off Report Investigation:

Rip-off Report Investigation is complete: We note that with over 35 million registered members, there are only a mere 15 Rip-off Reports filed on the Company, which is an outstanding record. We commend the Company for asking us to look into these Reports with a sincere effort by the Company to satisfy any customer that might have fallen through the cracks. Not too sure what the problem could be with a money back guarantee?! With 35 million customers, and hundreds of customer service people working at the Company, we would think they would have a lot more complaints, but they don't. We all know how customer service people can be, remember they are human too :-) .

Investigation shows many of the comments made about the Company are ludicrous and were more than likely posted by competitors and should not be taken seriously. ALL BUSINESSES WILL GET COMPLAINTS, BUT HOW THOSE BUSINESSES HANDLE THOSE COMPLAINTS SEPARATES GOOD BUSINESS FROM BAD BUSINESS. As a matter of policy, when Rip-off Report is retained by a business to investigate independently and to publish our findings, we use every bit of information at our disposal to determine the truthfulness of the complaints against the company or individual... there are no guarantees as to the final outcome. Our final investigation shows that the company has demonstrated excellent customer satisfaction and has reasonably addressed all outstanding complaints. Anyone may contact me [email protected] with any questions or information. ..Also, the company has set up a special email address for those who may have a special refund request (although the regular refund procedures seem to be exemplary). The address is: [email protected]

NOW TO THE ORIGIONAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

=====================

I've just read the information on this page and I feel I came here a little too late.

I was going to do some work in England for a friend and he sent me the sms.ac link. I thought he wanted me to be able to text him whilst I was over there so we could keep in contact if he was out the office. I thought it was something I could use to send him a message on-line so thinking it might be useful I signed up.

I never used it and totally forgot about having signed up. One Friday afternoon, 5 months later, my phone started beeping. I checked it and it was a text message from somebody I didn't know. I deleted it and it came back straight away. I deleted it and again it came back. I switched off my phone as I was golfing at the time and left it off.

When I got home I switched on my phone and the messaging started again. I was unable to use my phone in any way. I couldn't reply to the message because as soon as I started to press the buttons to do so the message would come in again and interrupted what I was doing and I had to start again. It was physically impossible to use the phone to answer it or to dial out as I had approx 2 seconds between each message.

The message was identical every time and I noticed the sms.ac link at the bottom. It suddenly clicked that it was the sign-up I had done 5 months ago. I went onto the website and cancelled my account. I had never used it. In fact I have never even sent a text message in my life. I'm not a big phone user. The only ones I've ever received have been 2 or 3 erroneous/spam messages over the past 3 years.

Despite cancelling the account the messages continued. It did say there was a 24 hour cancellation period. There was no contact number on the website only a email facility so I sent an email to them requesting that the back-log of messages be erased.

I tried to contact BELL Canada to block the messages but their offices were shut for the night.

Not knowing much about messaging I didn't realise I was being charged to receive all these messages. Dumb I know but never having been a part of the messaging culture I was oblivious to this fact.

So to cut a long story short my boss rings me today to inform me of the phone bill. I'd told him at the time I was getting the messages and he wasn't aware of the cost implication either. Anyway, $1500CDN, 5168 messages in 2 days.

Bell Canada flatly refuses to do anything about it blaming me for signing up. Despite the fact their customer services were closed when I tried to block them and that getting 5000 messages in two days is not something they are responsible for. I beg to differ but they don't see it that way.

I've just contacted SMS customer service only to get their online refund form. Unfortunately it says they are only responsible for 50 messages. That leaves me 5118 short if my calculations are correct. I've called back but their line is busy I will continue to see what they will do but I don't see anything happening after reading these posts. I'll keep you informed.

Kevin
