Discriminatory customer service I just spent 4 hours of my only day off, calling Sonobello to make an appointment then driving 50 miles to get there only to find two Caucasian females at the front desk telling me my appointment may need to be rescheduled after asking my name and hearing the response "Maria". The original appointment was scheduled for 12:30 but upon my arrival of 12:38 I was informed there was another client coming in and my appointment may need to be rescheduled. Hesitantly the receptionist at the front provided me with the documentation to fill out. I was finished within a 5 minute period. Approximately 10 minutes later the receptionist and clinic manager called my name; now
approximately 12:53. The office manager stated "my next appointment is in the parking lot" I will need to reschedule your appointment or I can see you later this afternoon. I questioned if the appointments were every 15 minutes, the front desk manager stated appointments were scheduled every half hour. According to the email received from the call center appointments my appointment was scheduled for one hour starting at 12:30 that would mean the next appointment would have been scheduled for 1:30. I explained to the manager that I had driven from across town to get there she stated "that is why we ask our clients to be here 10 minutes earlier" I explained that my email did not say anything about a ten
minute process prior to the appointment (email below). After leaving the clinic and feeling lack of empathy and professionalism from the staff I called the 1800 number to inquire about a manager, the call center routed my call back to the same Sonobello office, to the same manager that did not want to see me. During our conversation I explained that the staff was extremely unprofessional her response "I am sorry you feel that way" Knowing that there is an abundance of Liposuction providers in the Phoenix area there will certainly be no issues finding an office that will treat me in a dignified professional manner. I am glad this occurred before my procedure, if the office staff behaves this way it is
uncertain how follow up treatment would be handled. I am extremely sadden this type of treatment continues to take place in the lives of minorities.
