I booked with a service called Stag Party over the phone in February 2012 for my friend's bachelorette party. We discussed pricing and how the bus worked for the rental for the night. I was pleased with the breakdown and decided to go ahead and book this service for June 2, 2012. After I made the reservation, I found it quite difficult to get in touch with them again to make some changes and their confirmation email stated, "All final itinerary will be sent by e-mail on the Tuesday before your event. Please do not call before this time". I found this to be a little odd but trusted that everything would be sorted out and they knew what they were doing.
I did get a confirmation from them on the Tuesday before the event with an interesting note on the letter stating, "Please have exact amount ready for the driver as the driver does not make change and have it ready upon boarding". This I thought to be a little odd since the form of payment was not discussed to make me aware that the full $704.00 must be paid in cash. After all, their website displays that different forms of payment such as cash or credit card are acceptable.
"How will you be making payment? Cash / Credit Card
Have your Card information ready
______ - _____ - ____ - ____ Exp ___/___"
Thinking this was an error, I emailed them to let them know I would be making payment on my credit card. They responded telling me that they only accept cash. Understandably so, I was really worried because I didn't have $704 to withdraw 4 days prior to the event. I phoned several times, never got a call back from any of the many voicemail's I had left. Finally after phoning repeatedly, the main coordinator answered the phone and stood her ground about the cash only policy. When I explained that it was on the website, she shrugged it off saying it was a typo. It has been almost 2 weeks now and this 'typo' has not been adjusted.
This argument continued on for a couple of days. I proceeded to explain that it was not mentioned anywhere in my documents that it was cash only. She didn't seem to care. All she did was offer to cancel my reservation. With only 2 days before the bachelorette, I was forced to pull money out of my savings account and pay in cash to not ruin the entire event I planned out.
The bus driver was nothing but rude and unpleasant the entire night. I would imagine someone who works for this industry would be more polite and pleasant with his job. I would never recommend this company to anyone looking to arrange a stag or stagette party. They are liars, extremely rude, careless and tardy in handling situations.
I would like to get a refund, especially since there was a 10% mandatory gratuity on the amount which I truly feel they did not deserve.
