Star Transportation Inc Recently purchased by Covenant, This company survives by ripping-off it,s drivers ! Nashville Tennessee
When I contacted Star about employment, I was given the usual BS about how great the company was and what they do for their drivers.
After completeing their 3 day useless, un-informative orientation I was offered the choice of two trucks, both un-roadworthy. I refused to drive either of them and it took 3 more days before they could offer me a decent piece of equipment to drive.
On my first trip out I realized how bad they were ripping me off on milage. I knew that they only pay Household movers guide and I figgured that 10% was a big enough sacrafice to make but after checking my actual milage and comparing, I found that they were cutting an extra 15% off that. With only 700 PAID miles under my belt for the week, they left me stranded for the weekend in Valdosta, Ga., 40 some miles away from their nearest fuel stop. My fleet mgr, Ray Brasher, said he would see what he could do the next morning to move me.
Next morning came and no response from Ray. I sent him a message that I wanted him to bring me home (Nashville), to turn in my truck, (following the rules given in orientation for quiting), still no response from ray ! I ended up deadheading back to Nashville at my expense to turn in the truck.
I would not recommend this company, even to new drivers looking for experience. They will do nothing but rip you off !
