Be Aware From These Computer Guys oncall258, INC (VA, DC, MD.) ----------------------------------------- Reply to: see below Date: 2008-06-11, 2:35AM EDT If you reading this then... run miles away from ONCALL 25/8. To start with their customer service is pathetic... I am a former Dell technician so I know a lot abt computers... My gateway laptop had problem with the inverter so I could not see anything on LCD display... I called these guys and fixed an appointment... they picked-up the laptop all right but once they got it - these guys weren't interested in tellin me how much it will cost to repair... i called them thrice then they told me it will cost $380/- BS tht inverter costs around $50 anyways... Well it's ok I said return my laptop - Then these guys start to bargain... wanted to reduce 50$.... but the whole process took days - weeks (4 weeks to be precise) Well I get to know "in fine print" tht it cost $50 for them to deliver laptop back home... $50 if U don't pick it up from their Lab within 2 weeks and if its more than 45 days then it's their property... trust me these guys will never call when you refuse to use their services.... Well it gets even worst for me- when I collected my laptop from their Lab... My laptop's LCD screen was broken - USB casing was Broken... one of the USB connector was broken and god knows what all they must have done to my laptop internally... I am going to refer these guys to BBB. Very UPSET... ONCALL258, INC 3260 Duke Street Alexandria, Virginia 22314 Location: VA, DC, MD. PostingID: 715705825

I used to know Steve Mietelski. Maybe there are other Steve Mietelskis out there, but I am convinced this is the same person because "25/8" was part of the name he was kicking around for his future business, plus he was just as rude as described, and a smoker. I just want to point out that the craigslist ad Jonas responded to stated that this company has been operating since 2002, which is a lie. In 2005 when we last spoke, Mr. Mietelski lived in his parents' trailer in Pennsylvania. He had a part-time job repairing computers for a larger company like Best Buy, a step above retail. He claimed he lived in D.C. before that and tried to start a business after he dropped out of college, but unsurprisingly ran out of money and had to move back home. Maybe he fixed a friend's computer or two, but in no way has onCALL 25/8 been a legally recognized business for six years, and certainly not in Alexandria, VA.
