I purchased aprox 10 cans of ACE brand spray paint over the last year. Over the weekend I opened a new can to paint a vent.  After shaking the new can and removing the pin, the pain came out like rain drops and covered me, made a mess of the vent and dripped everywhere.  I opend a second and third can and had the same results.  I then went to my shelf and put all 8 cans in a bag to take back to the store because it says ACE SATISFACTION GUARANTEED, If you are not satisified we will replace the product. 

The clerk at the store treated  me like a criminal and decided he wanted to test it. Imentioned that he should stand back when using it because he will get pain on himself, He rudly said SIR I KNOW HOW TO SPRAY PAINT. His hand was soon covered and he got the same results as I did.  They then took my info and proceeded to tell me without a receipt or proof of purchase, they cant do anything. I pointed out the guarantee and the fact it is an ACE branded product.  He took inventory of the cans and said the manager would call me monday. He would not replace the cans.

I went top Home depot, bought Rust-olium and finished the project no problem.

The manager of ACE called me monday and said they cannot prove I bought the cans and further said I had not been in the store since 2014.  I go into the store at least once a month, so i don't know why the records dont show that. She said she can't take back the products without proof of purchase. I pointed out the cans says ACE.  I told them I would want to get my cans back and went to the store Thurs.  The manager was not there and the clerk called her and she told me to come back in 2 hours.  I told them I couldnt.  The manage called me later and said without proof of purchase she cant honor the guarantee. She gave me the # to ACE.  I called 888-827-4223 ans spoke to Peggy. told her the story, she transferred me to paint. I spoke to Joel, he said it is a Krylon product and he cant do anything and I chould speak to Krylon at 800-204-8767. 

I spoke to Krylon and they are going to contact the store manager to see what they can do.

Unbelievable....

I own a Good Neighbor Pharmacy and when a customer buys a GNC product and is not satisified we simply give a replacement or money back, put the bad product in a tote to return to the wholesaler and the store gets credit.  Simple, no problem.  Thais is how it is supposed to work.  

No wonder why the mom and pop hardware stores are a dinosour!
