I received the call from Dan Griffith at 1 800 345-3648 ext. 4008 at the end of March. He stated that I had been selected by T. Harv Ecker to enroll in a special real estate course. I was told that someone would call me the next day to explain the program. I was called by Talmadge Dickson who explained that this was a 12 to 13 month program with the breakdown as follows:
1. Preparation Phase (2 to 3 weeks)
I was to complete a personal profile and a vision statement and an evaluation questionnaire for T. Harv Ecker.
Based on my personal profile I would then be matched to a coach for a customized program.
2. Short Term Phase (16 weeks)
This portion was the education phase where I would be taught about real estate investing.
3. Transaction Phase (8 months)
This was to be the investment phase where I would actually make purchase offers and do deals with the knowledge I had accrued during the education phase.
The commitments were:
1. Customized program
2. One on one help
3. Commitment to life success and finally,
4. Success is Guaranteed-Failure is not an option.
I was also told that I would need
1.Time 10-15 hrs. a week
2. I would have to be a decision maker
3. I would have to make financial investments and finally
4.From my investments 1/3 would go to cash flow; 1/3 consumer debt and 1/3 account business.
What convinced me was that Talmadge Dickson said that this program included Peak Potentials Guerrilla Business School and Life Directions.
He said that I would need to give back 10% or more from my earnings to charity.
I signed up for 12,050.00 U.S. on my Visa.
I worked on my vision statement and personal profile and sent them off April 1st. Talmadge phoned back and said that they had been received and said I should read my vision statement everyday?? Puzzling since it was in the form of a power point presentation not a written statement.
I was also told that I would be receiving my real estate binders in the next few days and would have my first meeting with my coach Jen Wilson the following week on Wednesday at 9:45 A.M. By 10:15 that Wed. I had not received the call so I phoned student support and spoke to Ashley Parrish who said there had been a screw-up on the time and she would get me a new coach-Dave D'Ewart. I had three sessions with Dave and was very disappointed.
First of all, I specifically requested someone with experience in the Canadian real estate market, Dave had none.
When I asked what was a servitude-he did not know.
After three sessions I asked for a new coach. I was referred to the resolutions manager Dennis Beck at 1 800 345-3648 ext 1040. I explained the situation with Dave , he promised to set me up with a new coach who had Canadian real estate experience and we would start all over. I was then given Dianne Buckley and started with her on June 12th.
I soon found out during my first session that she had resided in Ottawa 20 years ago which was the sum total of her Canadian real estate experience. We plodded along for another session then for my own personal reasons and also cause I was feeling disappointed and ripped off that this program was far from customized I requested a hold on my coaching sessions. I faxed the form in on June 19th.
I was frustrated by the unprofessionalism, typos in the real estate manuals and had not even opened the last manual and failure to deliver on the promise of personalization.
Then in July I received an email from Peak Potentials about 3rd party fraud and replied. I have been in touch with them to come to a resolution about this and expect no less than a full refund. I have also contacted the better business bureau of Utah and Attorney General of the State of Utah.
