It is always best to hire someone skilled to do so, unfortunately in most cases these companies dedicated to cancel timeshares usually cheat for the second time to their customers since they are vulnerable and desperate. If you are thinking of hiring them you just have to make sure you do not have to make any payment upfront ... I found these articles that speak precisely about this, you should read them, that might help you to resolve many doubts:

I hope you can solve your problem, good luck!

To Whom It May Concern, regarding this customer's comments we would like to expose our side of the story. The sales process includes a verification portion in which the contract is signed and all of the important parts of the contract are explained step by step to the customer's satisfaction. When there is a part of the purchase price that is financed by Sunset which is what happened in this case the payment plan is included in the contract so that the customer understands what will be charged monthly. If the customer does not have sufficient money available we do offer the customer the option of applying for a credit card, this process is clearly explained and the customer fills out the credit application. In this case, after the sale we where in constant contact with our member, we provided her with a welcome call which is our procedure designed to explain the most important points of the contract again to ensure that everything was understood properly. We also have a customer services line where the customers can call at any time. Our customer contacted us in March of 08 saying that she wanted us to explain the monthly payments, we gave her that information over the phone and our member insisted that something was not right, we asked her to please fax or email us her bank statements so that we could discuss them, she agreed and we waited for her documentation. After this she posted her comments on this website and when we contacted her, customer was very angry; we explained that we needed her to contact us, and let us know what her problems are so that we can help her. Sunset has not done anything wrong in this case and our member has a package with all of our contact information for her to contact us if she needs.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I bought a timeshare from Sunset Group back in December 08. They took me on a tour and i must say their hotels are gorgeous. They explained that if i'm taking vacations 4 weeks a year a timeshare would make sense (i like to stay in nice hotels on big beaches). I bought it and i'm happy with it. Daniel over there was very nice and he gave me a bunch of bonus weeks. I called Member services to inquire about RCI and they gave me the information over the phone. I really don't have anything bad to say about them.

NEVER,EVER BUY A TIME SHARE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY WITHOUT CONSULTING WITH SOMEONE WHO IS NOT INVOLVED WITH THE TIMESHARE IN QUESTION AND WHO SPEAKS THE LANGUAGES AND REALLY KNOWS THE REAL ESTATE LAWS THERE. YOU WILL BE CHEATED. Used to be it was ILLEGAL for a foreigner to own ANY kind of residential real estate in Mexico unless they inherited it or paid a LOT of bribes. I do not think time shares per se are legal in Mexico either. It's odd that property in Mexico would be brokered out of FLORIDA! The whole thing sounds BAD to me ,starting with the fact that I think time shares and condos are RIP OFFS from DAY ONE! SINCE THIS HQ OF THIS COMPANY APPEARS TO BE BASED IN FLORIDA, MY SUGGESTION TO YOU IS TO CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CONSUMER FRAUD DIVISION IN FLORIDA AND TELL THEM YOUR STORY. MAKE SURE YOU ONLY SEND COPIES OF YOUR DOCUMENTATION, AND SINCE THESE PEOPLE HATE BAD PUBLICITY SO MUCH, TELL ALL THE LOCAL NEWS MEDIA WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU. I HOPE YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK. THAT MUCH MONEY WOULD HAVE MADE A SUBSTANTIAL REMODELLING JOB ON YOUR OWN RESIDENCE TO MAKE IT MORE ENJOYABLE.
