I can confirm that there is a dirt late model race car and he has trailer with surestep on it. He is from Grand Forks North Dakota. He is not that great of a racer. Last year he went on the World of Outlaw tour for late models. Anybody can do this, you just have to have the money. It is not because he is that good. He wasn't even somewhat competitive with the major racers. Now I beleive he is broke and someone apparently broke into his shop and stole absolutely everything. He listed equipment that everyone around here knows he didn't have. Many people are not buying there story and say it was his mother, Desiree Hapka's doings. Needless to say none of this surprises me. A lot of things that come out of there mouths are made up stories and lies. This website was posted on a racing page and many have checked into the link that was attached so we are learning how the Hapka's operate.

All the statements about the Better Business Bureau, the A+ Rating and being in business since 1991 is an absolute lie,
All one has to do is GOOGLE Interlake Chemicals Ripoff and one will see that Franchisees are filing complaints with the states and countries against Sure Step and they are not shy about giving their names and phone numbers.
There is a lawyer from Canada dogging this company because of their affiliations with convicted business opportunity criminals and their sales tactics.
It sounds like Fredrick Smith, the guy defendind them may have poured his hard earned money into Sure Step without checking them out.
The Guy in canada (((REDACTED))) Is willing to have you call him so that you can get the real scoop on this company. There is absolutely absolutely no re-course to get back your money when they rip you off. No Re-course.
When they took the money from the guy in their own homeland, he found out that they were not registered, and now there is nothing he can do to get $1 of his money back.
These guys started in 04' according to the records that they sent me 2 years ago, and in 5 years they have managed to complie so many complaints that they have to resort to lying about their record. I can tell you that the guy in the above complaint is sure going to destroy the A+ rating if they dont refund him, because according to him they sell you a territory, dont support you and then when you dont buy product they sell your territory to someone else.
In a nutshell your nuts if you give this company a dime of your money.
GOOGLE: Interlake Chemicals Ripoff. Its like a slot machine of complaints Thats all I have to say.

I fail to agree with Mr. Cass' complaint and "facts" stated by him regarding Interlake Chemicals lying to its distributors and consumers. Unfortunately the internet can be a very harmful tool in causing damage to otherwise very reputable companies like Interlake Chemicals . Good companies are often in the eye of the storm because of unethical business practices followed by competitors. Interlake Chemicals has been in business for over 20 years with a tremendous track record, and also has an outstanding reputation among its consumers and distributors. You can have a look at what real people and real businesses have to say about Interlake Chemicals over here - http://www.interlake-chemicals.com/what_others.php Feel free to contact them regarding any clarification, if needed. On the internet, there are many posts that state " Interlake Chemicals was sued by the State of Washington. In fact, this is an outright lie, and you can verify by taking a few minutes and call the numbers below. This is just false information plastered on the internet by so-called competition or those that are threatened by Interlake Chemicals' presence. For the State of Washington , there are 2 numbers to call as well as the web site to go to: 1.) 206-464-6684 ( Attorney General's office ) this number is to verify that Interlake Chemicals has NEVER been sued by the state of Washington . In fact, INTERLAKE CHEMICALS has never been sued by anyone, anywhere . If Interlake Chemicals was what is stated on the INTERNET, wouldn't it make sense that it would have several lawsuits filed against itself? You can call this number and ask the person who answers the phone "has Interlake Chemicals ever been sued by the state of Washington?" The answer will be " NO ". 2.) 360-902-8762 (direct line for Cheryl) this is to verify Interlake Chemicals ARE registered in the state of Washington to conduct business. Just call her and ask "is Interlake Chemicals registered with the state of Washington to do business there?" And give her the file number: 70014064. The answer will be " YES ". Also, you can go to: www.dfi.wa.gov 1. click on: Business opportunities (which is under the heading: INDUSTRY) 2. click on: Securities Orders, Licensee Database, Filings (which is on the upper right hand side of page) 3. scroll down to: Securities Orders, Licensee Database, Filings, and click on: Search the Licensee Database 4. select: Business Opportunities, and scroll down and enter: INTERLAKE CHEMICALS and click on SEARCH THIS WHAT WILL APPEAR IN THE LICENSEE DATABASE: File Number: 70014064 Status: " Currently Registered ". Find below the letter from Interlake Chemicals attorney explaining exactly what happened in the state of Washington http://www.flickr.com/photos/interlakechemicals/4121630902/in/set-72157622721418051/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/interlakechemicals/4121630904/in/set-72157622721418051/ Find here Interlake Chemicals current Washington State Disclosure Registration http://www.flickr.com/photos/interlakechemicals/4121630914/in/set-72157622721418051/ Interlake Chemicals has an A+ rating with the BBB . It has a 3 Year Complaint Free Certificate from the Better Business Bureau. http://www.flickr.com/photos/interlakechemicals/4121630906/in/set-72157622721418051/ The Chamber of Commerce affirms that Interlake Chemicals has been a member in good standing since 1991. http://www.flickr.com/photos/interlakechemicals/4121630908/in/set-72157622721418051/ Find below the letter of Solvency from the CIBC . Feel free to call the bank to validate Interlake Chemicals longstanding activity. http://www.flickr.com/photos/interlakechemicals/4120864599/in/set-72157622721418051/ Again, the internet is a very powerful tool, but can be harmful when anyone can post anything without consequence. I hope you find this information useful when making an informed decision about joining the team of SURE STEP distributors around the world. I would like to make a suggestion that Sure Step Interlake Chemicals is obligated by law to refund anyone who has purchased their package and would like a refund. They can do this by contacting the State of Florida Attorney Generals office division of consumer affairs/ Franchises. They should also mention these characters/salesmen that are mentioned if they have been found guilty as stated in a court of law for violating business opportunity/ Franchise laws in the past. From what I see when Glen Stroud is GOOGLED a laundry list of criminal charges are leveled against him all over Canada. I would believe that the owner Franklyn Sigurdur who appears to be from Canada already knows this and knows that it is a criminal offense in the U.S. not to disclose this to the people that bought the franchise. You may also contact the Attorney General for your state so that nobody gets hurt in the future.

Cass in California has his information all wrong, and I would like to set the record straight. First of all, Interlake Chemicals is a member in good standing with the BBB, as well as many other agencies, and has no complaints at all. Why this person would make such a false claim is a mystery. All he had to do was call the BBB or the Chamber oc Commerce or the other agencies. What Cass said was an outright lie. Cass also lied about contacting the State of Florida, because Interlake Chemicals is registered with the State and again there are no complaints. Interlake Chemicals has distributors in over 22 countries around the world and is growing. This would not be the case if Cass was telling the truth. Cass mentions the race car, and yes we do sponsor a race car and the exposure from the sponsorship program is great. We generate alot of business for our distributors all around the USA from the sponsorship and we plan to continue the program. By sponsoring a race car, it allows our distributors to get into large franchises that also sponsor racing. I guess Cass is not aware of NASCAR and how popular the racing industry is. I am not comparing our sponsorship to NASCAR by any means, however our company is spending money on the racing because it is good business for all of our distributors. We also do National advertising in two very popular trade magazines. I don't know about Cass and who he is or what his problem is but he uses the words he should not be using. We don't need to lie to anyone. Cass is the one that has lied by making all thes false claims. We can only wonder why Cass would do such a thing. We are certainly glad that someone like him did not become a distributor for our company, although it sounds like Cass has no resources to get into a business anyway. The race car and hauler is real, and Cass should have taken a closer look before making these claims. Cass needs some glasses perhaps. Anyway, the claims made by this person are untrue, and it is Cass who, as it turns out, has just been caught lying in California.
