I noticed a charge on my credit card that neither myself or my husband recognized. It was from NatGeo so I contacted them about it. It has been two years since I subscribed to NatGeo Traveler magazine, and that was through a deal I got through American Airlines. I have never renewed my subscription. NatGeo says that Synapse Group Inc placed the order, so they (NG) could not do anything about it. I called the number for Synapse Group ( 877-813-0320), which NatGeo provided.
Just based on the phone call, you can tell this company is not legitimate. You go through an automated menu and when you say you want to cancel your order, they say they can refund your money but that you have to resubscribe and pay $1.25 a month to continue getting the magazine. There is no option to cancel the subscription and get a full refund immediately, which is what I want, obviously. I filed a dispute with my bank, so hopefully that will clear this up for me.
