It has NO coverage and they use a crappy sounding compression technology called GSM. Other carriers rated better use CDMA/EVDO. Sorry for your trouble. I have had so many problems with them also, why do you think that they offer service for so low? Because it is crappy. Get Verizon with a lot LARGER coverage area and it is also " The Nation's Most Reliable Network".

Jeesica, Not only do you get 14 days to return your phone, you can also cancel within 14 days if you are not totally satisfied. A return period is offered by almost every cellphone company because not everyone is going to be happy with the service. Samsung happens to be carried by Cingular, Verizon, and Sprint as well, not bad for Samsung to be carried by the 4 biggest providers. Also, it is ok to change your plan and still be eligible for an upgrade. As long as the plan is $39.99 or higher ($69.99 or higher for family plans), you do not lose your upgrade eligibility. Some reps may not see that you have in fact been on a $39.99 or higher plan for 11 consecutive months, so sometimes you gotta tell them to review the rate plans you have been on and they will gladly do so, it's not hard. Suspensions for non-payment have a negative affect upgrade eligibility, each one pushes you back an extra month. T-Mobile now has 2 year contract extensions for upgrades, which offer insanely low prices on phone upgrades. Consumers, please be aware of the following: If you do a 2 year contract extension for an upgrade, you will have to wait 22 months before your next upgrade. 2 YEAR UPGRADE PRO: very low price on a new phone 2 YEAR UPGRADE CON: if you damage your phone or need a replacement before 22 months, you will pay full retail price for a new phone - OUCH. So if you're a person that likes to change your phone every year, pay a little bit more money and get a 1 year extension instead of a 2 year. If not, then the 2 year upgrade program saves you a lot of money on a phone. 1 YEAR UPGRADE PRO: will be eligible for a PARTIAL upgrade discount in only 3 months. Will be eligible for a FULL upgrade discount in 11 months. 1 YEAR UPGRADE CON: Will pay a little more money for a phone vs 2 year upgrade. Also, 1 year upgrade option is not available online (only available through customer care and retail store). Contrary to popular belief, you can get a new phone upgrade without extending your contract. This can be done by paying the full retail price of the new phone upgrade. Next, only changing to CERTAIN plans will extend your contract. As of 12-21-2005, the following plans will NOT extend your contract: $19.99 Basic Plan (no full discount upgrade eligibility) $29.99 Basic Plus Plan (no full discount upgrade eligibility) $49.99 3000 Minute Regional Plan Also, you can switch your plan and choose to give up unlimited nights to avoid a contract extension. Switching to any PROMOTIONAL PLAN will extend your contract. (e.g., 1500 minutes for $39.99 monthly) Finally Jeesica, do a search for complaints about any other cell phone company and you will see that the list of complaints are the same no matter what company you pick. Since you say you live on your cell phone AND your phone was getting shut off every 3-4 days, I am guessing you have a SmartAccess account. SmartAccess accounts are the most misunderstood accounts but, in my opinion, SmartAccess is a great thing that T-Mobile came up with. I can be wrong, but if I am right I would be more than willing to explain how SmartAccess works.

I bought a Samsung Phone when I began my T Mobile contract in March. I spent fifty dollars to get a camera phone rather than taking the free or "cheapest" phone available. I kind of figured that a phone worth a couple hundred dollars would be a better option. Well I was wrong the first samsung I had would lose signal and hang up so many times in one call that I couldn't even hold a conversation. I returned it during my seven day period, thinking it was just a defect in the phone. Well the second phone they gave me of the same model will lose signal at least two times within a ten minute conversation. Sometimes for instance indoors I will have to call a person back five or six times just to get my point across. The only option I seem to have since my seven days are long up is to pay thirty dollars and get a new phone of the same model, or save my money and count the days until my contract is up. As for the person who thinks T Mobile has such amazing service; the only way you get a new phone in eleven months is if you do not switch from you original calling plan. Every time you switch your plan whether to add minutes or get less monthly minutes, it renews your contract. For instance my dad has had T mobile for almost three years and has yet to recieve a free new phone. Not to mention that thier automated bill payy system is the worst ever, when I switched my plan the last time my phone would get shut like every three or four days because of a mistake in the system, they didnt even offer me any minutes to make up for it. I plan on switching services as soon as my contract expires, because if you are a person whose cell phone is your life line tmobile is not the service for you.

Number one, thank you T-Mobile customer for your business! Number two, to the person who wrote this. Please tell me that your idea of resolving the issue was to call into customer care or to stomp into a store and make a scene about your phone! Using manners and a nice tone of voice goes a long way and people are more opt to help you. If you simply called in complaining once and actually thought that they should send you another phone for FREE...you are crazy. It is your phone and your responsiblity to either take care of it, get the insurance to protect your phone, or shell out some cash to buy a new one. Phones are just like buying a tv..... they have a limited warranty with additional insurance that can be added. You could never and would never think to go back to Best Buy after buying a tv and a few months later it stopps working. T-Mobile stands behind their phones and offers a one year manufacturers warranty that covers most things unless it is lost or stolen, damaged by liquid or has signs of owner damage. You could have easily qualified for that as long as you took care of the phone and it truely was a reception issue. You could have even gotten a phone to use while that one was being repaired. Consumers need to get over the idea of just getting whatever phone is the cheapest or FREE. Sometimes, you get exactly what you pay for. You can say that the customer service is so bad but they are the only carrier that offers 24/7 service. They are also the winners of the JD power award. As far as I am concerned, whiney customers who dont want to shell out a penny for anything and then cry about it can write on here all they want. Good luck somewhere else because anywhere else it will be at least 22 months before you qualify for another FREE phone, and at T-Mobile it is only 11 months. Just think about it, you want to pay nothing or next to nothing for a phone that might just be the very thing that saves you in an important emergency? Good luck.

I have never had any problems with reception, dropped calls or billing. My bill is always within a couple of dollars of what it should be and my customer service experience has been wonderful, especially compared to other carriers. If you got the "free" phone when you activated, I strongly suggest that you upgrade and you will see a big difference in your reception. I got their Nokia free phone when I started service with them about a year ago and upgraded to the Samsung S-105, which is a great phone.
