The biggest example of BAIT and SWITCH, the worst customer service imaginable, and a finance manager by the name of David Madreros who gets angry if you don't want to buy GAP insurance and will tell you anything you want to hear until you drive away with the car.
Took a friend with me to Tamiami Hyundai on August 15th, 2015, found the 2016 Hyundai Elantra that was exactly what I wanted, the salesman Steve Kalinowski gave me a trade in value for my Honda CRV that I was happy with, wrote my order up and moved me on down the hall to the Finance Managers office. The finance manager Dave Maderos took my application, said everything looked fine, he would have no problem finding someone to finance me at a good interest rate, that I just had to sign a few papers and I could get into my new car and drive away. I stated specifically, that I was not taking the car or signing the papers until I knew who was financing me and exactly what my payments would be. I stated this clearly and repeatedly. It took a very long time in his office while he was on his computer before he announced to me that he had found a lender (Grow Financial) and that I was locked in at $348.09 per month. I signed my papers of sale with Grow Financial as my financer, my payment was set and I drove away my new car. My Filthy new car, but that's another Tamiami Hyundai story.
Almost 2 months have gone by and I have yet to receive any information regarding my car payment, so I called David Maderos to inquired about it. David said it was no big deal, just stop by and bring the payment to him along with 2 more recent pay stubs.
I went in Monday October 11th where I was met by another Finance Manager by the name of Remi Mendozzi who informed me that David was on vacation and he would now be assisting me. Once I was seated in Mr. Mendozzi's office I handed him the copys of my 2 most recent pay stubs, he set them aside and went on to inform me that they were unable to secure financing for my car loan from anyone except Hyundai and that it would change my payments from $348.09 that was originally agreed upon when the sale was made, to a $408.00 payment per month. I said that it was absolutely unacceptable for me to even consider a $60.00 per month increase on a payment that was clearly stated as locked in before I even took possession of the car.
To say that from the moment that I entered his office, Remi Mendozzi was rude, condescending and intimidating would be an understatement. In fact it was so uncomfortable that I said I had to leave and go to work just to get out of there and gather my whits about me.
I returned to speak with and settle this matter with Mr. Mendozzi the next day, October 12th, and was met with the same nastiness and intimidating tactics as he tried to use the day before only today I recorded the whole conversation. From the time I walked into Mr. Mendozzi's office until the time I left 1 hour and 3 minutes later it is very, very clear to anyone listening to this conversation, the dishonest and intimidating tactics whith which this business and it's employess operate.
I left Tamiami Hyundai with two things: a car payment of $8.00 more per month than my original sales agreement and a complete and very clear audio recording of who these people really are and what a $36,000 scam looks like.
