Do not use! She does not have a license. She will take your deposit for material and never install your patio. She may use the alias of Tara Sauceda, Tara Telles or Tara Rodriguez.
Here is my story:
On April 11, 2012 Tara Rodriguez with Tara Home Improvement came to our home and provided us with an estimate for a 14' x 43' patio cover. We issued her a deposit for materials for the amount of $2,500.00.
On April 12, 2012 I called her and let her know we wanted to make some changes to the patio cover. We did not want the 3" insulated cover anymore. When she came to our home on April 16, 2012, she convinced us to keep the 3" insulated cover. She insisted she needed an additional $1,000.00 for the materials. We issued her an additional deposit for materials for the amount of $1,000.00. She set our install date for April 28, 2012.
On April 27, 2012 I tried to call her to find out what time our installation was set for. Several calls to her were never answered. She finally answered a text message at 11:09am on April 27, 2012. Her text read Hi maria im at the office i set install for next wed thur That would have been Weds May 2 and Thurs May 3. I replied at 11:09am on April 27, 2012 no, it is for tomorrow or forget about it! I tried to reach her by phone to discuss it, but she would not answer. She repeatedly text me that our install was on Weds. I sent several text messages stating we could not do a Weds or Thurs install. But she still insisted the material was already cut and she had already paid $6,100.00 towards the material. I would call and text her to cancel our installation and refund our deposit of $3,500.00, but never received a reply.
On May 5, 2012 at 9:29am she text me that she was on her way to the factory to meet her crew to load my job, even after several requests to cancel the install she still insisted she was going to install it. On May 5, 2012 at 5:49pm I text her "what happened? why didn't you show up?" She never replied. Instead, she had her ex-husband call me at 6:04pm. He stated that he was from Western Panels the factory that Tara Rodriguez with Tara Home Improvement purchased my material from, he said he made the 30' beam in the wrong color, so my install was not possible today.
On May 10, 2012 I surprised her at her home and requested that our $3,500.00 was refunded. She wrote on a piece of yellow lined paper "I Tara Rodriguez will pay 3500- refund upon factory refund" When I asked her what factory she was referring to, she said it was "Western Panels" She said she had a COD order in with Todd Killian.
On May 11, 2012 I called the same number that was on my caller ID to speak to Todd Killian. I recalled the conversation I had with him on May 5, 2012 about how he made my material in the wrong color, I let him know I went to see Tara Rodriguez the night before and requested that we receive a full refund. I told him she agreed to refund us once he issued a refund to her. I asked for the refund to be issued by a joint check. He proceeded to tell me he didn't know what I was talking about. He did not recall making any type of phone call to me. He said he had no orders for her and that he did not receive any money from her for my material. If I can prevent her from doing this to at least 1 person, it will be worth the work I am putting forth to file these complaints. When I googled "Tara Home Improvement" nothing negative came up. Now when you google her, my warning will be there.
