Taylor Ford Financing and GAP Insurance RIPOFF Taylor Michigan
It is a long story. I will attempt to shorten it. We have, fortunately, a good credit history. My husband purchased a new s009 Ford F-150 from Taylor Ford on June 11, 2009.
We took the truck home on that date. The paperwork was held up. That was fine. Once we received it and I began investigating I found that we were being charged seven point four-four (7.44) percent interest on the loan. One fast telephone call later I was able to refinance for a much lower rate. Which we did do on July 2, 2009. Taylor Fords business manager stated at closing that their financing using Chase Bank was a better rate than Ford Motor Company. - I doubt that once I looked at Fords web site.
Also, we agreed to purchase a GAP insurance policy. What a mistake. Six Hundred Dollars worth of mistake. Again one fast telephone call later I got the insurance using our carrier for five ($5.) dollars thru November.
I called Taylors insurance company that they put us withon July 2,2009(I believe). Number one: Since we refinanced the policy was no longer valid. Number two: Once we purchased our own policy we were due a refund from Taylor Ford (states this on the front page of the policy). Number three: We have our release of lien from Chase and should be able to get our refund of the insurance. I have faxed all of this paperwork to Kim Jenio, business manager, of Taylor Ford. I have left her one telephone message requesting her to return our call. The faxes request a call and our Refund. Today is July 13, 2009 and still no call or refund. The insurance company told me that since we requested it to be cancelled before sixty days were up we are due a full refund.
