Telliss USBI chrged for calls I did not make, were rude an unhelpful when I called for explanation Who Knows Virginia
I received my phone bill from Verizon with $151.48 of International Calls placed to Sweden (phone# 46856313113). There were 4 calls shown made to this #. I did not make these calls!!!
I e-mailed USBI, and they responded: "USBI is not a long distance carrier and does not provide telecommunication services. The company for which the charges were submitted is TELLISS. As Telliss prefers to handle their own customer service, we are forwarding your inquiry to them directly.
Emily Hernandez from Tellis responded via e-mail: "You are being billed for connecting to a long distance web server. A pay-per-view (a site you must pay to access) website was visited from this number. The home page for these sites are free, however, to enter further into pay-per-view sites a disclosure form must be accepted. When this is accepted, then (and only then) are we allowed to bill through your local phone carrier. These sites could contain anything from music or game downloading, gambling, adult entertainment, sports unlimited sites, or checking your stock online.
First of all, I have an internet connection through a local provider through my phone line, so how can I dial/connect to a number in Sweeden if my line is already tied up through my local internet provider???
Second, if I was on the internet and a disclosure form appeared and told me I would have to pay to view this site, my response would be "NO"
Third, no one was even at home when 2 of these alleged calls took place.
I called Telliss, and after 30 minutes on hold, Emily answered the phone. Is she the only person who works at this scam company???? I explained everything as I have stated above, and I asked her to take these charges off of my bill. She then became very rude and defensive, and said "We cannot take these charges off of your bill" "You made these calls and you will pay for them" I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said "he will not be able to take these charges off of your bill either....no one can" I explained that I will not pay for these fraudulent charges, and she said "the only thing I can do is note the account"
With all of these complaints, how is this company still in business???? How many people just go ahead and pay the bill without even questioning the charges? Telliss & USBI must be stopped!!!!!
I refuse to pay for calls or connections that I did not make!
