I just recently put a guitar amplifier on layaway at Texas Music Emporium. The price they gave me was 600.00 dollars so I put 200.00 dollars down. Due to unforseen circumstances, I exceeded the 90 days and did not pick up the amplifier. I called the store when I was able to pay the balance but they informed me that they had already sold the amp due to me exceeding the 90 days. I then proceeded to ask what amount I had left from the down payment, thinking they had charged me a restocking fee. They informed me that I basically had nothing because I exceeded the 90 days. They offered me to come to the store and they would work with me. This was a lie. When I got to the store, they were not willing to credit me anything. I informed the owner that most stores may charge a restocking fee but never the whole amount. He proceeded to tell me that most stores won't even talk to you. That is a lie, stores like Guitar Center don't treat customers this way. To add insult to injury I told the guy at the cash register that it looks like I lost 200.00 dollars and his response was "yep that is what it looks like". It took everything within me not jump across the counter. I will not spend another dime at this store and I suggest that you don't.
